Pioneer - an apology

I just wanted to put on record that I have been giving Pioneer another chance in the rotation and it has been growing on me massively in the past week. I don't know if the flavour has been mellowing out or just that I have been so arrogant that I didn't believe my tastes in snus could still change ... but I have been really enjoying it.

My initial disappointment was probably a mixture of the reviews comparing it with Ettan coupled with the anis/caraway flavouring in the first batch I tried. Now I expect it to have quite a strong flavouring of bergamot and what ever else they put in it - it's not a shock.

More than anything I'm loving the rich dark tobacco flavour underneath that bergamot and the really fine grind that makes this snus have the unique consistency that sometimes reminds me of shoe polish (it's even shiny when compressed). It is truly a well balanced snus and unique. You can't believe how relieved I am to have proved myself wrong with my initial response to Pioneer.

So apologies to the makers ... it wasn't you ... it was me ... I had counselling and now I'm better.

Man...........every time someone reviews this snus I wonder if the makers change the recipes with each new batch.........its Ettan.......then it taste like anis/caraway.......now its bergamot

I guess next someone is going to pop in and tell us the mint flavor is refined but not overly sweet.....

Anyway......glad you made peace with it Squeezy (if I remember you went through a lot to get it)........and yea our taste still change (actually I think it is more our expectations that change at this point…….we aren’t retrying a brand with the false expectations we may have had when we first tried it)......


Regardless……….I recently had a similar experience……….I finally made peace with Ettan......and now it has become one of my favorites........a year ago......I gave a roll of it away

I love me some Pioneer.. Only problem is I have to have it shipped from Pattaya,Thailand to Bangkok,Thailand (I have a 2 homes there) then have my Brother-In-Law ship it here... Because you can only get it at Northerner dot com that I have seen and I hate northerner with a passion and do not want to give them more of my money, really sucks, I wish Buysnus.com or something would get it in stock
