    Man Down!!

I just got an email from Buysnus that Gallaher House is dropping many of their brands of snus.

    Hi,

We would just like to inform you that quite a few brands from Gallaher will be discontinued.

The production of the following brands has been stopped and is only available as long as stock lasts:
    Gustavus Classic Portion
    LD Portion Juniper berry
    LD Portion Gold
    LD Gold Loose
    LD Black Mini

    Already finished
    Level loose

    Already finished
    Level Mini

For you that have any of these as your favorite snus we would recommend you to hurry, we do not have much in stock nor does the producer. Also take the opportunity to try some other snus to find a new favorite.

    Have a really nice day!

This crap's getting out of control. I think that whenever a snus company wants to drop one of their products, V2 should drop one in it's place :^P LD Juniper was a favorite of mine, and I actually kind of liked the Level lös. I've only had 1 can of that, but I had intended on getting more. I hope the LD Black regular portions stick around. Those are one of my all time favorites.

Yes I also received this email. I have not tried any so I guess I can't miss much then. I do have 3 cans of the LD Black reg Portions, which has taken on as my desert snus.
How long have these been out?

I tried the LD Portion Gold and hated it, I love LD black, but i only get the regulars, I could never make up my mind which Gustavus I liked more so this just makes it easier. And Level is gone? Thank GOD Level is gone, that stuff was horrid.

Seems to me like the company made some good decisions to consolidate. I'm not going to miss any of it.

Almost all snus is relatively new, excepting most of Swedish Match's lineup. The Northerner has the release dates on some of these, and they look like they were from 2005 and newer. Snus can be very disappointing. Brands seem to come and go at the blink of an eye. The only safe bet is using the old classics from the Swedish Match monopoly. Most of those aren't really favorites of mine though :^/

The LD Gold portion kind of sucked, but the lös was pretty damned good, better than Grov imo. The level portions were all but unusable, but I rather liked the lös. It had an earthiness that I found appealing, and more importantly, it was an essential ingredient for me to make my Diplomat lös that I wanted to make :^(

I don't like mini portions at all, but LD Black was the best mini I had. It packed the most flavor in a small size of any snus out there.

I long ago gave up trying to like los. Portions are just my little best friends. So I am indifferent to what happens to los

But... I know so many los fans here, and far fewer choices so I guess it sucks to lose any los.

Although I must admit I use more portions than los, I enjoy los (Ettan, Skruf stark, and Knox) so far. Is it the convenience of the portion that you like?

I tried to get into los a few months ago. And at one time before I was stockpiling to get through WW III, I ran out and los got me through.

But I just really don't seem to get a kick out of having a bunch of tobacco in my mouth, portions are just so much neater and easier. And I love to play with them sometimes, squeeze them to get more taste out. Ultimately for me, I just get more taste enjoyment from the portions. Plus, with los, I was always aware it was in my mouth, portions I throw in and truly forget most of the time, until I WANT to play with it.

                    :^D

It's ok Xob, there's plenty of crappy Offroad flavors they can go through before they get to the...ahem...good stuff ;^)

I am fond of the LD Gold Los and Level Los. When I first read it though I was really worried Gustavus Los was going to make the list.

I was going to try some of that LD Juniper Berry, but I was initially put off by the Gold and White Minis. Can you really taste the Juniper Berry, or is it more of an aftertaste?

The Juniper rocked. It was fairly salty, with a heavy taste of juniper. It wasn't gin flavored like Göteborgs, it tasted like it had bits of evergreen in it. I'm really gonna miss that one :^(
