Jakobsson's Classic = Waste of time and money.

I cracked open my can of Jakobsson's classic today that I got when buysnus.com was offering free shipping. Is it me, or is anyone else not impressed with this snus? I have a hard time tasting anything. I should mention that I use General portions and Grov portions. What's the deal here, am I crazy?

I feel about the same for the Icefruit.

I cannot agree with you on the classic. To me, it had a nice salty bitterness with nice earthy tones. After about 30 mins in, I could easily detect the maple tones. Is it anything to rave about? Not for me... But then again, I also swear by Phantom :lol:

Jakobsson's is very very subtly flavoured in comparison to General and Grov

I think that the description of it by another forum member as a more subtle Gulsnus is quite accurate.

I have only had the classic. I did not really care for it, but I do not loath it. I have been consuming it at a very slow pace, a portion or 3 a week maybe. Many people think it is very tastey though.

I really like Jakobssons Classic, but feel it takes a lot longer to "get going" than most snus, the first hour is very subtle, but after that I get a very nice, subtly sweet flavor.

I enjoyed this snus so much I ordered a roll (I also like Gotlands Gul very much and have just over half a roll still in the freezer).

"A Waste of Time and Money" I don't think so, snus is very jubjective, I wouldn't say this about ANY snus. I mean should I say "Grapefruit is a waste of time and money" just because I personally don't like Grapefruit?

I enjoy the Classic, the flavor reminds me of some sort of orange chocolate candy I used to like. It's good but I'm not likely to re-order for a while until I've sampled some others.

Some snus I immediately enjoy. The Jakobssons Classic isn't one of them. Too salty for me, but I think it has merit, so I'm just chillin' with it. It's in my maybe later, not junk (never again) category. Always YMMV.

EDIT: Just had another portion. Have to say; Not bad at all. I'd put it ahead of Ettan, and behind General, on my hit parade. Not sure if I'd order again but we'll see.

I actually Love the Classic.

Now i like it because of the saltiness and bitterness notes.

Ive never been fond of any kind of flavored snuff, so therefor ive never ordered any flavored snus such as offroad and such.

Now ive had goetborgs rape 1 and 2 and found that those had a very salty almost sourness too them that i loved but i just prefer los.

All I order and swear by now is Gotlands. I have 3 cans of Gul Los, 2 cans of Gul Portions and 1 can of Joakobssons Classic. I use los at home and portions at school and work.

I liked it but will not order more. Seems there is a lot of snus out there that will fill it shoes without costing as much. Now the icemint...I have not find anything like it. Tried an icemint with a phantom blue last not. Pretty damn good!

I haven't been impressed by any of the Gotlands snuses, including the two Jakobsson's varieties, of which the regular is more bitter than anything else, and the Ice Fruit tastes like Juicy Fruit gum (artificial). I haven't had Gotland's Green yet, but the yellow is too bitter and the grey is too licorice. I understand how people can like these, and I very much appreciate that they're different, but they're not for me.

I'm not too fond of the Icemint; I think the taste is a little too strange. It may just be that I have to try it again some other time, I don't know...

The Classic is pretty good; I actually like it better than Gotland Yellow. It's not going to be a daily, but worthy enough to purchase again.

I ordered a tin of the Classic portions, and I have to say, I really like it. The flavor is super subtle (taking up to an hour to get going!), but it is an excellent relaxing snus and the flavors are just right for me after a long stressful day. I am now really curious about the other Gotlands brands (not the flavored ones, I can't do the flavored snus).
