That is pretty cheap for a tobacco product in that area, no? Way expensive for it to be worth it, but still rather cheap for tobacco in NYC.

Camel has stated that they went from 20 to 15 pouches to ensure maximum freshness for the consumer, Bull@#$%. The portions are so dry that I doubt refrigeration is necessary at all. I'm all for corporations making money but they should be called on their BS every once in a while. If there are any grillers or barbecuers here you no doubt remember Kingsford charcoal removing large quantities of their product in every bag and marketing it as an improvement. Anyway, back on point, woke up late today and rushed getting ready for work, forgot snus. I picked up ridiculously expensive Camel Original and now I'm craving cigarettes again. I haven't craved a cigarette since the last time I tried Camel, don't know why. I can go a day or two without any snus and only crave snus but if I use Camel snus I end up craving a smoke.

That is undoubtedly due to the subliminal messages in the Camel logo.

I had the same experience once. I used maybe two of those rotten pouches and chucked the can.

          I knew it!

Not only that but I love the tins. I hate Camel Snus but had to get the tin, which I'll probably throw away in an hour out of disgust. Now I have a Camel 'pouch' in the left side of my lip and a Tourney portion in the right. The overall flavor can be described as diet iced-tea with hints of pine-needles, cigarette ashes, gym-socks, and Copenhagen. Still no noticable nicotine, think I'll add an Oliver-Twist to the mix.

            I bought before...

Just before I started I made it a point to stop by Portland and check out if I could try some Snus for the road trip I was on to reduce smoking. I forgot what exit I got off at but stopped at a cigarette discount store that was selling Camel tins for $3.25 at the time with the original full count vice 15.

Get this I bought 30 cans. I bought ever can out of the front frig and they had to dig in the back of the store to get the rest of the count. I don't even think the ones in the back were stored cold - just the ones in front of the customers. The price at the time was $3.50 per tin of Camel.

Anyway, I liked them so I found myself on Northerner about two weeks ago and here a week after that.

I would not buy cans of any count for $6.50 from Camel. I don't dislike Camel but that is a ripoff for sure no matter where you are at in the US. I could see that kind of price in Canada (tobacco is high there and NYC).

I was in Portland about a month ago and prices have climbed to $5 something there but did not check the tin count. Camel is shooting themselves in the foot by raising the price and reducing the count. They must want their Snus brand to fail.

Thank God for the Internet for education.

Camel is extremely dry and I doubt all places are storing them cold all the time. From mimick of Swedish Snus to just a gimick for them.

I just came back from a trip to NYC and bought some Camel snus there (went to Sisha International as recommended by some users here). I just had to try it, regardless of many negative comments here in the forum. Actually, I really like the taste of the frost and the spicy variants. However, there is not much nicotine in it. So, I put a bag of the snus on one side (for the taste) and some Skruf stark los in the other side of my mouth. Consumed this way it is really enjoyable
I've also brought a selection of dip with me (Skoal, Red Man, Longhorn, Copenhagen) but didn't try it yet. Looking forward to try it soon...

Yeah, I never minded the taste much, would probably like it less now that I've adjusted to snus, but normally used 2 portions at a time, so it always went quickly. Now with only 15 portions per tin and higher price = definitely glad I switched.

Phew. Finally, a few good words about the Camel snus taste. I really like the Frost and Spice Camel and would use them in rotation with other favorites if they were available in my area. But not at an increased price for decreased content.

I'm paying $3.50 a tin for General Wintergreen and CatchDry Peppermint at a Sarasota, Fla., tobacco shop.

Camel and Marlboro appear to be trying to make American snus fail. The only reason would be to send smokers back to cigarettes, not to Swedish snus.

My buddy in Orlando is coming to visit soon and i'll have some more spice. I've been out for about a month. I like the stuff quite a bit.

                        Outside of Spice

Outside of Spice - Camel Snus is very close to WISE SNUS in color, size, dryness, and texture but sweeter. If you have tried WISE then you've come very close to US Camel Snus.

I really did like Spice but I am now not in an area to buy it and Original Product has taken it's place. Plus reduced count and increased price would just make it a silly luxury.

I wonder what spice they used to inspire the flavor. I could see it used in a Swedish SNUS sans the "chewing gum" sweetness.

I really did like the spice flavor, pair it with a decent size portion and real tobacco, and I think you would have a winner. Thought N&J East might come close, sadly disappointed.

I too love the Spice. North Carolina was the first market that Camel went into after their two city test drive. Back before I started to compulsively stockpile snus, it was nice as a back up in case I ever ran out (happened a few times) Now that I keep about 80 cans of the Swedish stuff on hand, there will never be a need again, but I still pick up a tin of spice every couple of months.
