Looking for a Retro replacement.

When I'm drinking beer or just want a plain tobacco tasting snus I reach for Taboca.
Never tried Retro so I don't know if it's comparable or not.
Hope it helps.

I thought Grov was ok. I only tried it los. It is on the more expensive side as well. I used to like Knox before they had a shortage for like 3,4, maybe six months? When it came back on the market it went from $2 a can to ~ $3.25. Well I purchased a roll. It did not taste the same so i decided to give that up. I have been on a offroad frosted and General mint kick since then. I think I am going to give Olde Viking a go. Thanks for the help.

It is still 2009 and you are in a coma snusdog. The last 3 years have been one... long... dream... Wake up bro. Sagedil will pop in any minute and beg everyone to send him their Retro because he can't live without it.
Try Odens Original Slydell. Or what about Grov, you don't like Grov? I always thought it was somewhat similar to Retro. That was a good snus by the way, I'm surprised you are still thinking about it lol.

Slydel?.................Retro replacement thread?................did I time warp backwards...............was that whole PACT thing just a long nightmare
Bro what is up! .....................good to see ya!
I agree with lx...........Old viking would be a good place to start.
Oden Extreme regular strength portions would be a variation on the same theme.............Oden White #69 would be the same thing but in white
Any one of those will get you into the Retro ball park.......................Tre Ankare might also be one to try for something on the milder side flavor wise

I think it would. Olde V(ik)ing is a solid snus, and would be my first choice for a portion that has a generic snus flavor. No one flavor really stands out. It's just a nice all around snus.
Good to see you btw :^)

Looking for a Retro replacement.
Hello all,
It has been a while since I have been on this forum. I have been using General Mint and General Wintergreen (white portion) for a majority of this last year. I drink beer on a daily basis and have not been satisfied with the mixing of mint or wintergreen with the flavor of my beer. These two snuses are great when used by themselves because the flavor lasts so long, yet....they do not compliment beer IMHO. I long for the days when I would use Retro when I drank my beer. So what do I want? I want to know if Olde Viking Original portion would be a suitable replacement? It does not have to be like Retro per se...but a snus that lasts long and compliments a pilsner beer. A Retro replacement would be great, but I do not think that is going to happen anytime soon. What would you suggest that would go well with pilsner beer and would Olde Viking Original portion do the trick?Tags: None
