Ordering Snus To Croatia

Hello.

This is my first post here, hopefully this is the spot for a lonely Norwegian to get back to he's lovely friend "the snus aka Bink"

I moved to Split-Croatia a few weeks ago, and i ordered 50pcs of Skruf Stark Portion. It was supposed to arrive yesterday, and it did not so I got some help and got on the phone with the post office currently holding my snus. They said that its to much to send into the country and they will return it to the sender.
But if I had ordered the snus several times, by that i mean 10package with 5boxes each and not 1package with 50boxes it would be no problem at all.

So my question is, what are exactly the rules for importing snus into Croatia? And for now, where i will suffer with smoking instead, does anyone know about a shop/store/anything that might sell snus in Split-Croatia?

I'd check out the website for their embassy or something similiar. Look for a section that details any travel restrictions, most country's will include a statement about how much tobacco or alcohol you can bring into the country before it's an issue somewhere on their embassy's web site in my experience. Generally, it seems to be 200g/1 carton of cigarettes is usually the limit for tobacco, with some countries being higher or lower. Seeing as Croatia is set to become another member of the EU in a year and a half, your odds of finding snus for sale in the country are probably pitifully low. Your best bet would probably be to try andsee if there is any local chewing tobacco or something similar you could purchase.

Looking at the numbers i can already say that yes, it seems you've imported way too much at a time. Split your purchases into lower numbers(half at least?) and you shouldnt have problems. Anyway, each country has its own laws concerning tobacco import so the best advice i can give you is what's already been said in the previous post. I have a friend that had the same problem, several seperate boxes .. Didnt matter, was sent back.
