Headaches from certain brands

So ive read that some of you guys get headaches from probe, which made me wonder, any other brands bother anyone else physically, not just stuff you dont like... Theres plenty I dont like. Ive been using alot of grov black lately and have been having bad headaches. Its most likely not snus related at all, but I never get headaches, and wonder if it could be the grov. I have mainly been using general,but changed it up last week with the grov

Probe is the only one that really hits me

Sometimes if I over indulge in a Stark I will get a little nic-ache.....but it is different and much shorter lived than the probe

I have also heard a few folks say they have some sort of allergy like reaction to something in Skruf (probably the rose)

i think it was odens original. it tastes good, but gave me a headache every time. it reminds me of when i drink an aspartame sweetened soda. it does not contain artificial sweetener or anything, but that is what i can equate the effects to.
it may be the smoke flavoring. i don't know. i think a lot of people have mild allergies and sensitivities that they are not aware of.

Smoke flavoring is really bad for me. The occasional pris is ok, but if I do too much in a day, I get horrible heartburn, and that's not something I ever get otherwise. Probe gives me a bit of a headache also.

Yes... a brand gives me very bad heartburn and Skruf played havoc with my gums. All the rest have been fine.


That brand was Odens Original....don't tell GN.

Too much smoke flavor gives me heartburn.

Fake cinnamon flavor gives me headaches. Odens 59 is the only one I use that doesn't give me headaches.

By "General", do you mean the regular General portions? It might be the extra nicotine in Grov Black that is giving you the headaches.

Ive been using General white green harvest since It came out, but I always throw a few sterks in the mix throughout the day, so maybe I am getting a little more nicotine than regular, but not much.

If you're using Grov Svart like regular portions (i.e: often chaining the stuff), then it could easily be a nicotine overload. Any other reason would be that you're allergic to the flavoring, but I highly doubt that.

I am revisiting the Grov black after not having it 3 years, which is weird since the first time I had it I hated it, Now I really like it... so maybe I have been overdoing it a little bit.

To reiterate what Heders said, it probably is the nicotine. For example, I went several months without using a strong portion snus; I only used General White Portion. When I chain-snused a can of Nick & Johnny White after months of using 8mg snus, I had a headache throughout the whole day. The reason? Nicotine tolerance. Although I used to chain Skruf Stark and General Extra Strong Portions on a daily basis, my body became accustomed to 8mg snus when I quit using strong varieties. It took me a few days to adapt to the 11mg N&J portions.

I could be completely wrong; however, my intuition is telling me it's the nicotine, as I've experienced the same problem.

I have a slight allergic reaction to juniper and get headaches from the goatrapes and Phantom Blue Loose because of it. I also get headaches from the other Phantom Looses but am not sure if they have juniper. These headaches are not from nicotine for me. Good Luck!
