No More EU snus sale again

Maybe a coincidence but I heard Asda are being trained on a new protocol for selling tobacco. Apparently it will have to be in locked non-see-through cabinets and all they can present customers with is a price list. Then when the customer has chosen the staff have to get the tobacco for the customer in a careful manner so as not to expose children to the sight of the tobacco products uneccessarily. Apparently large penalties will be levied for non-adherance. The Tobacco Nazis and their big pharama NRT chums are doing real well here.

We also get that law here in finland at the beginning of 2012 and it's just stupid. I don't smoke anymore but still think that it won't help at all if we don't see the tobacco products and children will just be more interested about smoking because buying under the desk makes it more intriguing. Welcome to the party guys.

I am, yeah, but snus2 have a deal on knox stark that was very good value - 2 rolls effectively the same cost as say a roll of skruf stark at snus.de - shame I can't pay for the damn thing though.

ah ok, yeah it's a bummer - and if you do a bank transfer you usually have to pay a charge to your bank.

Sounds to me like the shops got the EU directive before the public did and are once again having to reinvent their entire processing procedure

They should all move to Russia, that would sort it!!

What is more......when I try to order from the U.S warehouse, it's in Euros, with tobacco tax and sent Swedish Post.

A lift on the EU ban is speculative until it actually happens. Until then I'm screwed.

I don't know whether or not to wait for GN's reply, order from Northerner U.S or give up. I've got a week off coming up so I can suffer withdrawal then.

As one on this side of the pond........... the point that grabbed my attention from Susify's post was this

What they fail to mention in their paper is that the Snus ban is most likely going to be lifted at the end of the year.

A lift on the EU ban could give a lot of momentum here in the US for excluding snus from things like PACT.

I am sure they will still want their taxes and all............but it might become easier to obtain and less expensive to ship.

It certainly won't hurt the cause

Snusify..........can you elaborate a bit on why you think the ban will be lifted......................... for those of us here in the states who maybe don't follow it as closely as our EU brethren
