I think most of you will have figured out why we are asking these questions and yes we want to bring out a Toque range of Snus.

    Thanks for all your help.

The one I still want to see is a Peppermint-Menthol. Catch eucalyptus-menthol used to be really good because of that menthol flavor. Picture that mixed with a decent peppermint (not super sweet) and I see a huge winner. Also, if I remember right, Toque made a tasty cappuccino-like snuff. A Mocha Cappuccino snus could fit in well for Toque.

I would avoid mainstream flavors such as Bergamot and Wintergreen or Spearmint unless you are incredibly confident that you can beat the flavor/cost points of the big name out right now (General Original, Thunder Frosted, Jak's Wintergreen)

I can picture Toque Snus being a bit of a niche snus much like what V2 does. Make flavors no one else does as a decent price and do them well.

The top brands in Sweden: General, Ettan, Goteborgs Rape, Grov. I'm unsure of the order except for General, which is obviously the #1 brand.

Another variable to take into account: portion format. In the past several years, white portion sales are slowly -- but surely -- beginning to be a worthy adversary to original portions; however, I'd recommend offering your snus brand in both formats.

High nicotine varieties are becoming very popular, especially in Norway. I'd recommend releasing an original portion, white portion, and loose variant.

Lastly: loose snus. Although it still enjoys demand, it has declined in recent years. There are two reasons: 1. Users of loose snus are switching to portioned varieties. 2. New snus users find portions to be less challenging to use compared to loose snus. The major underlying factor is the convenience and discretion portioned snus offers. With that said, I would strongly recommend having a loose snus variant in your product line, as many users of snus simply won't switch to portioned varieties for numerous reasons.

    speaking of legitimate business...
I would go with tobacco free snus injected with liquid nicotine, which I guess would be legal to sell in EU
    I wonder,why nobody makes that

Only problem I have is with customs lately. They seized two orders from snusline even that they were under 22EUR limit and I had to pay taxes. It looks like my name is on some " red flag" list
Well, if you’re importing more than is considered appropriate for personal consumption, then yes. They WILL be watching you!! Anyhow, it doesn’t really help Roderick in his quest for growing his legitimate business ... And His Question ... What is the best selling Snus and what are the 5 most popular flavours?

I'd suggest editing your post. You're not a lawyer, and you're unqualified to make legal statements. You don't want to attract negative attention to yourself by misspeaking on a public forum ;^)

The smell of course is not important at all as far as a snus goes, the important thing is to select a base tobacco that has a great taste and no bitter finish to it. That is the base for whatever flavor you want, but the base flavor should be a rich natural tobacco. That would be half your market right there, and then you can add on the flavors. A little bergomot here and a little vanilla there, and you have a product, but start with one that needs nothing, ala Ettan. It means Number one and it still is.
Great post, spot on! Make your first los like Ettan .... then ... add the flavor you want = win

This might sound a bit crazy. Wait.... after reading some of the above posts it seems perfectly sane , but how about pistachio? Like the flavour in pistachio pudding or ice cream? I think just a hint of it would be nice. Perhaps it would be suited for a snuff as well? Not sure about that one as I haven't tried the snuff yet but after reading up about it here I'll be giving it a shot very soon.

What about a cherry/vagina flavored snus? Could have red colored pouch material for the portions and a redish color for the los!

    I despise cherry :^D

I like natural cherries, and cherry pies, but that's about it.

Honestly, I think that Cherry Menthol idea would be a quite brilliant combination. I believe it could be a home run in both los and portion form. Especially in the United States where menthol and cherry are both quite popular flavors.
