It's bad, they want to hide all tobacco.

Even in Sweden the "nanny staters" are campaigning to hide snus from view. http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel...rtikel=4884634

Reminds me of the reason Muslims "persuade" their women to wear a hijab.
We wouldn't want to subject adults to having to make adult decisions and resist being tempted now would we?

You're welcome. Yep, your figuring is bang on. New smoke-free year, a fresh page!

As a former dipper, I find that the "nic hit" is something that is lost on me. I use Skruf Extra Stark, Oden's Extreme, Jacobsson's Strong, Thunder Strong, and never have a problem with it. I love the Skruf, loose and portions. Oden's Extreme, I hate the loose, but love the portions...if you try Oden's, I'd recommend giving both a shot.

Thanks, Vulpes. If my figuring is correct, you have just ushered in the new year - happy new year to you and yours!

On this side of the pond and on my side of the border there is a big stigma attached to oral tobacco so it is an uphill battle trying to convince those who really want to quit smoking to give it a try. Plus, advertisement of any tobacco products here in Canada is forbidden. Cigarettes are kept out of view from the customer. A Smoke shop here recently started selling General products, but the only way they could let anybody know is with a small sign saying "Swedish Snus Sold Here" behind the counter.

Patnotron - Sorry if this has gone a bit off topic, but it is support like this from other forum members which make the switch over to snus from smoking, etc. much easier. There is a wealth of information here. Check out the archives, tons of good stuff there.

Stark (or sterk) refers to a strong nicotine level, not necessarily "bold" as in flavour. I agree with the posts above that a stark lös would be the best bet if you want to change over to snus from smokes/dip. I am a snus noob - or snubie - but just beat the shit out of a 25 year pack-a-day smoking habit with sterk snus. First with portions, but now almost exclusively lös. 3 months and loving it.

Not sure where you are located, but I assume that the fact that you have dipped Kodiak and Grizzly you are in the U.S. I have shouted out for Skruf Xtra sterk los, and agree with the recommendations above for it, but have found out that it may not be available in the states. In that case I would recommend Oden's Extreme lös or General Extra Sterk. I didn't get on too well with Oden's 59 extreme, but YMMV.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i should have quite a variety next order, does stark just mean strong or bold or something along those lines?

Try some regular starks as well - Nick & Johnny, Skruf and 02 are all good strong portions that aren't excessively flavoured. Nick & Johnny is one of the best tasting snus around, imo.

Don't worry about the strength. By the sound of it you need something strong and anyway, I don't think Extreme is that strong. It tastes great. If you find it's too strong, simply take it out and you'll be fine in a few seconds. Definately give a tin of portions a try.
With los you can obviously adjust the strength.

Thanks, ive actully been contemplating getting some los to try but wasnt sure where to start, i was never really bashful anout having a fat lip pack in and carrying a spit bottle (working 3rd shift as i do means you can get away with things like this), i only leaned towards the portion because ive been seeing post about people having the pris fall apart and wanted to stick with ease at first. I do like the idea of the freedom to dictate our own size and strengh of your portion though so los is certainly in my next order, at least to try and see if i can handle it(im thinking it may not be as hard as im thinking it is. I have done some looking into odens and i am interested, the strength has me a bit worried because i dont want to put one in and proceed to drop a brick in my pants and fall over, but i think i may as well try a tin and see how it feels.
    Thanks so far!

The los is a good suggestion but some people can't los because of their jobs, convenience etc.

Try Odens Extreme - at least buy a tin and try it.
