    Tre Ankare

Has anyone here tried Tre Ankare? Tre Ankare was a complete surprise to me, because it is a white portion. I expected sugar and exotic tastes. Turns out that Tre Ankare is an earthy tobacco taste with just enough tang in the mix to keep it tasting till the end.

Yup, I've tried it - and I hated it. 'Earthy' can be good when it's a subtle note underneath the tobacco (IMO), but with this one it was simply too much for me to handle. I remember thinking that it reminded me of sour and decaying forest floor ... it went in the trash after just a couple of portions, and even though tastes change (especially) when it comes to snus, I don't think I'll ever get around to buy another can of it.

I'm not often fussed about portions too much really, but Tre Ankare is one I enjoy from time to time. I do, however, enjoy that 'sour, decaying forest floor' taste  Another one I wish came in loose.

Actually, Tre Ankare is one of the few portions I still use on occasion. I have gone to mainly using loose but if I have to use a portion Tre Ankare is deffinatly in my top 5

It's a dirty leather taste to me, and I love it.

I like the whole feel around it.

I waited to try the "value" brands and pretty much lumped this is with them, although TA is no longer considered a value brand I guess.

I just break up the white portion, mash it around a bit, and wet it before placing. It's almost like an original. I'm surprised this isn't an original portion. The flavor seems to warrant it. By far the earthiest/rawest white portion I've tried.

I use Tre Ankare about 1/3 of the time. I'm a big fan of the quality and the unadulterated wet tobacco taste.

I found it to be pretty average, but I'm a newer snuser. Pretty mild IMO. Ettan, Roda, and Kronan put out more flavor.

I just put Tre Ankare into my usual snus catagory, It and Onyx are the only ones I've been using daily with regularity. I dont think the minies have enouf tobacco to pull it off, but the regular portions are wonderful.

Tre Ankare is a pretty decent snus. I only wish they made it in original portions instead of just whites.

Tre minis were my first snus. They didn't taste anything like the large portions. I like the large. At first, I thought maybe the can was bad, because it was really mushroomy and mossy and foresty, but turns out that's how it's supposed to be. I consider it to be the most unique flavor I've tried yet.

I just tried it recently and really liked it. Not for an every day snus, but I loved the change up. High quality, a definite keeper for my largish stash

I should have noted in my first post here that Tre Ankare is a Swedish Match product, so the product is not that far away from General and Ettan.

BTW, one of my Dutch cousins is now the director of SM Leaf and R&D. Says that he did not like snus :? but instead he smokes cigars.

Tre Ankare is one of the overlooked portions, IMO. Love it. Spicy with a darker tobacco flavor. Not an everyday snus but definitely one that I keep in the stash.

I have really enjoyed the Tre Ankare myself but white portions really aren't my cup of tea. What it reminded me of is the almost 'barnyard like' taste of a Belgian gueuze.
