Giving My White Portions A Pinch

I recently started using white portion snus alot more. I found that if I give the portion a nice pinch or two, it releases the flavor and everything quicker,,, like a lössnus prilla or an original portion.. only lasts longer than original portion.. . somtimes a fluff and than a pinch.

What do you think? Anyone else doing this?

Just thought Id share this with everyone.

    give it a try.

I always fluff/pinch white portions, since I'm a sucker for Swedish Match's products; all of their white portions are in the nifty "star formation". I switched to white portions because they smell and taste "cleaner". However, they seem to drip as much as originals.

Im a sucker for SM too snusjus. The consistency of those portions is nothing to sneeze at. I say no more.

Yeah they drip like an original but it takes longer to get that way. The white portions hold the flavour alot longer as far as I can tell.

I've always been in the habit of drenching my snus in saliva and pushing them with my tongue, so they always end up being drippy. I guess I'm getting the most out of each portion. Haha.

are you pinching it to free the grains of tobacco or to tighten them together? if that makes sense

Alittle of both if that makes any sence, ha, i sorta form it into my own shape, but not packed too tight..

With the SM "Star Formation" portion has a thin side and a fatter side, I will just pinch the fat side somewhat. evens it out and produces strong flavor.

I think you have a point. I think they look more socially acceptable to others, not that we're worried about that lol But it may help when offering a friend one.

I always roll white portions in between my fingers. SM whites due to the compression for star formation and skruf to lighten it up. Careful with skruf as they have split a seam (rarely). Like snusjus, I tend to just throw the portion in my mouth and compress it back down somewhat with my tongue on both sides before I push it up into place. Love me some WP but cannot do them exclusively without some gum irritation.

I've always been particular about installing a snus. I go through the same ritual almost every time. The way I see it, if I'm going to spend upwards of an hour with this thing I want it as fluffed up as I can get it. I want it to take the shape of my mouth without the need for much pressure on the gums. This will completely eliminate the irritation for most and it never hurts to drink a glass of water before you have the white portion. You're subjecting your gums to a dry paper with a relatively dry tobacco inside. It is going to wick the moisture from your gums and lip not to mention subject it to salt. If you're not well hydrated this can also cause irritation. I also keep the seam to the outside of the portion against my lip. This part probably doesn't mean anything but like I said, I'm particular about it.

While portions make up about 5% or less of my snus usage, white or regular I always pinch and fluff them up a bit before popping them in. More/better flavor that way.

I actually do this too as a form of habit versus function...some SM brands with the seam flap can actually flip over so to speak and get annoying...
