    Disappearing Snus

Where's all the snus going? I was just looking over the Buysnus site, and noticed a couple glaring omissions. LD is gone. I guess it's dead as a brand now? No loss since it was taken from Americans anyway, but it was one of my favorite los snuses. Lucky Strike los, gone. A really cool tin, and a decent snus. I'm not a fan of stark snus, but I liked it well enough that I would have bought a roll if allowed. I'd like to use the tins for other snus. Montecristo los, gone. A little pricey, but a great snus, in a great tin. Romeo y Julieta, gone. These aren't a surprise; they were on life support, but I'm sorry to see them go.

Going to Northerner, Gellivare products are AWOL. I'm hoping it's just severe delays from the factory, so they removed it from the site, but I have a bad feeling about it.

The selection is looking very sparse between the sites. A lot of brands I previously enjoyed, exist no more. On the plus side, we have Pioneer, and GN making first rate snus, and V2's trucking along as usual. I hope the culling of brands slacks off for awhile....

N&J los was pretty good. A little rich for a day to day snus, but a nice change up. It reminded me more of an Onyx los than N&J, which is a good thing imo. N&J has never been a favorite of mine.

I know I might be a minority, but I dig General Wintergreen. I think it's really going to help bring more Americans into the Swedish Snus thang. I gave a couple of WG portions to some dipper friends of mine, and now they want to go in on a big Northerner order with me.
Although being of Cuban heritage, I did want to try Romeo y Julieta. Great cigar, I totally would have loved a Snus that tastes like that.

                  ...When in Rome.

Whoops, I made a mistake. Romeo y Julieta is still available. I must have overlooked it. Montecrsto ls is gone, but they do have the portions. The portions weren't that special though imo.

Man I hope Gellivare and Landstroms are just in a production crunch and will be back soon...............However, I remember they did this before (for like 2 years).

I too really like LD and wish that we could get this one........And Jimmy's Plain Los................. while we are making our lists

The rest of them I won't lose any sleep over.................except that it seems to be a sad trend
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Romeo y Julietta, Montecristo - gone in all forms. Lucky Strike Bold - gone in los. LD, Gustavus - gone in all forms. Camel is all JTI has left and that's DAMN sad. Landstroms and Gellivare - gone.... what the Hell?

To expand on this, if most of those brands were available to the US I think they'd still be around. I believe the US is fast becoming a huge factor in snus.

It is a little depressing looking at the future thinking of having to settle for sub par (to me) snus as the ones i love are killed off. Just have to try some of the newer brands i suppose.

Do you think so? I agree with you that the US will become an important factor for the future but as of now the world IMHO for the general public in regards to snus is Camel, then Marlboro, and then to some in areas of the country where it is being pushed in mainstream locations, Swedish Match General brands. I would think an influx of lots of variety may just confuse people....?
