What?!?! Man, I wish Swedish Match would invite me to something like that. And she doesn't even use snus! Argh!

Man, she's a lucky gal. I would have love to have gone to an event like that, being a culinary grad and a snus fan, sounds right up my alley, and being able to make your own flavored snus at the end! That would be awesome.

If I had more time in Stockholm on Friday then I would have tracked down the restaurant armed with Roda, Ettan and General and begged them to recreate the menu ...

Ps: I propose a Snuson snus tour.....starting at F&L in Malmo, going up to the Swedish Match factory in Gothenburg / Kungälv (?), then to Landstroms and ending in Gotland ....and of course stopping off at Esperanto and asking them to recreate the experience.....How does that sound?

That would be completely awesome, however I doubt I could get the funds and time to go to Sweden for a week or more.

Sounds like a truck load of fun to me! ... but I guess Eli is right about funds'n'time.

But one can dream, right? - imagine us packed in a bus driving up north with our hands (and, of course, upper lips) full of free samples. Oh boy.

I don't think it would be that expensive (or no more than a standard week away), but I agree on the time issue

I've been kicking around this idea for a while and thought about going to Gotland this summer for a weekend to stop by Gotlandssnus....

It would be much more fun with a bunch of snus aficionados though and I think the companies would be much more receptive to the idea of a factory tour if there was a bunch of us....

So if we all somehow find the funds and time we should definitely do it...

so what flavoured snuss would you hav made?

i mean, while weve allowed ourselves to dream, if the snus didnt have the tobacco flavour at all, i would go for a sour apple flavour.
                orrrrr, a step further...tomato flavour...mmmmmmmmmm
                haha

both kinda simple .... feel free to spice it up

Well I'd like to complement the tobacco flavor with allspice berries and a touch of ginger. I think that'd be fscking awesome.

For me it would have to be something subtle because the longer I use snus the more I find myself leaning towards the pure tobacco snus flavours - Ettan, Montecristo, Grov -

...maybe snus with the taste of the smell of freshly ground coffee (if that makes sense)........

or something close to the taste you get from some whiskey?....undertones of oak, honey, and dried fruit..

or the taste of tobacco you get with Ettan with the added taste of vanilla and manuka honey...

I picked up some dark chocolate flavoured with Earl Grey in Luxembourg the other day for my girlfriend and that combination sounds awesome as well....

The possibilities are endless but I wonder which ones will really work????

I would join the tour 8)

It's a much less expensive proposition for those already in europe than for those of us in the US and Canada.. I'd have to go and get a passport (last time I traveled extensively was with the military).

I don't think that a flight from e.g. NY to Stockholm would be much more expensive than from Zuerich. And I would definitively fly. I only drove once by car to the north of Sweden, it's a long trip to go...

I think it would be a lot of fun to invade a snus factory with a group of crazy snus addicts

Well the flight for me looks like it would run close to $1600 for the round trip. Add week-long accommodations and quickly I go broke.

$1600? That is pretty steep.....It might be slightly cheaper if the flight is booked well in advance and if the dates are not in the middle of summer...so August or September rather than July.....

The other option would be to fly to a hub like Heathrow or Frankfurt and then catching a flight with one of the low cost carriers....

I figured a trip like this would be about GBP1000-1200 ($2000 - $2300) but I really think it can be done cheaper than that if it is planned properly....

So not the cheapest trip but it would be well worth it and I would personally still be keen if enough people jump on the idea....

Ps: I take your point though eli that one cannot splurge on a snus holiday if it strains the finances no matter how amazing it would be
