I've been thinking about all of this since my PayPal post, and I'm liking the idea of bitcoins more and more. You guys should checkout sgreger's group, and add your thoughts. An anonymous payment system is very attractive, and I think the bitcoin setup is pretty good. It's gonna take a bit of faith that the system will work but that's what we have now using dollars and Euros, right? It's all just pretend money, and we act like it's worth something. The whole project could go tits up, but that's like anything in the early stages. Imo, the gamble is worth it to keep away from PayPal's ridiculousness.

The other alternative is to trade real goods. It doesn't /have/ to be tobacco. We have a worldwide audience, and other places have interesting things that would be cool to trade. Just some food for thought....

Yah i've been meaning to add more to that BitCoin group but I just havn't had the time lately. The Bitcoin thing is a solid idea, it's not somethign you should move your savings account into but is PERFECT for transactions where money needs to exchange hands and you don't want a paper trail. I've really looked into it and it seems like a very solid curreency idea to me. Regardless of it's broader potential as a stable currency, at the moment (as in RIGHT NOW) you can move money around without leaving any paper trail pay for snus and exchange money without leaving a trace etc, it just takes a little work, but if things go weird in the snus world and everyone has to move underground, I think it is something people should definately look into because it is solid, frankly it's genious. A truly anonymous way of exchanging money is usefull for a variety of reasons, especially in the age of PayPal playing politics and the government deciding who gets to spend their money where.

If snus using rises in Finland they would not get taxes which they get from cigarettes in Finland.
All the money would go to Sweden.

And that would mean funding socialism.

How long before this idea becomes illegal? I actually found out about bitcoin awhile back and ran the program for a couple of weeks 24/7 never dug up any coins though.

Yeah, but it's quite likely that something like that happened here and we "dealt" with it using something we call the PACT act. It's not anything to be worried about trading here. But are we being watched? Yeah, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

I dont see anything to worry about, but on a side note, if anyone truly thinks we are NOT being watched, you are truly naive.....
