    My Storage Routine

Ive had a can go flat or sour on me because what I normally do is... Pull the can out of the freezer pop it in my pocket or jacket basically leaving it at room temp until its gone. Note: 24 portions usually take me about 7 days to get through. With the warmer weather here i think this process has effected my snus. The last 4 portions in my most recent can have seemed a little off.

What I do now is open a fresh can from the freezer and pack about 3-5 portions for the day in a empty mini can. I immediately pop the rest of the opened can back in the freezer. This morning Ive noticed some ice crystals on the renaming portions. Am I doing my snus harm by leaving open cans in the freezer?

You'd be better off putting open cans in the fridge, unless when you put them back in the freezer you use a freezer bag and squeeze all of the air out of it.

Could you explain why the fridge would be better than freezer after opened? And how important is the whole freezer bag process. My cans go from roll to freezer unbagged granted I only stock about 12 cans at a time and they only stick around for a couple of months. When I'm down to 2 cans its time to order another roll of my favorite and maybe a few sample cans of stuff I want to try...and the process begins again. I'm reluctant to find real estate in the fridge. I have my own "private section" in the freezer plus I don't want the kids, guests or random teenager my son invites over messing around or questioning daddy's snus....Hopefully I'm not being a PITA here...just trying to understand.

My storage routine is zip-lock bags. Freezer? Fridge? never bother but then I never have more than a few rolls around at a time, or I probably would.

ALL snus frozen in ziplock freezer bags. Once a can leaves the freezer it never sees refrigeration again.....

We got a vacuum sealer recently for stocking the deep freeze (although I have to admit I was most excited about using it for snus), so I've been sealing them and throwing them in the freezer. When I open a pack I put a few in the fridge in a ziplock bag and the open can stays out until its done. Works fine so far, but it hasn't been hot here yet.

I still keep my opened cans chilled not frozen as much as possible. When I'm home they live in fridge. When I'm out for the day I carry an insulated lunch box with a blue ice thing. It just depends though. I keep all my nighttime strong snus on the table in my chill out spot (garage). I'll even carry a paperboard SM can in my pocket for a couple days no problem really. But I prefer it cool. Unopened is in the freezer either vacuum sealed or zip-locked.

Here in Florida it gets pretty hot and once I open a tin it stays out until it is done. I use los, and a tin takes 5-7 days to go through depending on the amount of snudlff I use in a day.

My current tin of Phantom Brown has been open and at room temp and carried in the hot hot heat for 12 hours at a time for almost a week and what is left is fine.....as long as I don't leave it in the car I have no problems.

Never had problems with this method with portions although I only take one portion from the freezer at a time.

                No ziplocs for.me.
