I might just get one of each then, ettan and general. Kinda looking forward to trying loose. But I have to make sure my first few experiences with it are in the privacy of my home to prevent embarrassment haha.

General might be a better choice due to stronger flavoring.

I don't know if my experience is typical, but that's how it was for me. After trying Ettan, I didn't think I was a lös guy. I figured I'd get the occasional tin for tradition's sake but not really use it much. Landströms changed that for me. That had a huge taste for a plainer snus. It's a real bitch to use, but completely worth it. I imagine it's what snus was like 100 years ago. Everybody should get at least 1 tin for the experience. It's a boutique snus by a micro maker, and there's nothing close to it on the market in lös or portion form.
I was the same way with ettan at first. Underwhelming would be the perfect way to describe it when you first try it... it just seems bland at first. It definitely grows on you though, especially the los. Ettan is definitely one of those unique flavors that takes a bit to really get a full grasp on. After the first few prillas, I was wondering why it was so popular as I got nothing out of it. After the first can I really started to get into it, and now I can see myself ordering it by the roll. I don't think anything compares to Ettan loose.

I'll have to try landstroms... I've read quite a few good reviews on it now.

I would also recommend Ettan loose and GES loose.

Kronan is the only lös I've pitched. I took 3 pinches out of the tin, and tossed it. I couldn't take the flavor. It tastes like tempura paint to me.

I prefer portions because it's quicker, easier, and less mess. Not as good a value as los, though. Los pickles and irritates my lip.

I love love love los, but when I started getting out more and being in the studio and having debates in class portions became a large part of my snus usage. I didn't have to worry about mudslide due to excessive mouth movement. I still prefer los over portion but portions have their place in my life.
