I've written a letter to the UK Independance Party as I elected them to represent me in Brussels.

Dear Sir/Madam,

As a voter and supporter of UKIP and everything it stands for I and other British citizens need your help.

I'm a user of a smokeless tobacco product called Swedish Snus. Swedish snus is a pouch of pasteurised tobacco that is inserted inside the mouth to the upper lip. For a huge amount of people this has been a life saver as it has stopped them from smoking. It is a very safe product with the Royal College of Physicians reporting that it "is up to 98 percent less harmful than smoking". This product is banned for sale within all EU countries except Sweden. It has been legal to import it from Sweden until Friday night of the 24/25th March when without warning or reason it has been completely banned from Brussels.

Snussers who imported this product are now in a desperate situation as the EU obviously want us to go back to smoking. This is a total abuse of power which is extremely unnerving. There may have been legal implications leading to the sudden total ban but we don't know as nobody has even had the courtesy to tell us why it was banned.

Can you help UK snussers. We just want to live longer and do NOT want to go back to smoking.

I still can't find anything in the news about tobacco in Finland except for some advertising display ban they are working on. What really sucks about all this is knowing that the government is fully supporting the cigarette industry by passing this type of legislation and that they also don't give a crap about what we think.

Yeah - I wish that the snus manufacturers would fight stuff like this a little bit harder. What are the customs fees for shipping tobacco into the UK?

5 cans per package won't be noticed or checked I'm not sure about UK..... (UK customs are pretty strict, I've been dozens of times in the Airports both Gatwick and Heatrow and they were literally annoyign)

But in Romania, they don't check low weight packages anymore and even if they do heck I'll tell them it's pipe tobacco, what do they know ? :^)

I think 10 cans would be the maximum numbers of cans that are safe to be send to the E.U now.....
