Snus in Canada

This is it, my last ditch effort to keep my beloved snus habit. I was born and raised in Sweden, but have now moved to Ontario, Canada to work for a couple of years. Believe me, as things are going a couple means at the most two years. I am a snuser since 15 years back and did not plan to quit, but the Canadian silliness might just force me to. Hence, I turn to you guys at this forum. How the *blip* do one get hold of Swedish snus in Toronto, Ontario? I had my wife mail me 10 cans Ettan lös from Sweden, what happened? The *bleeping* idiots at Canadian Post ripped open the package and stole the snus AND the Swedish candy that was enclosed! I have been without snus for roughly two months and have been forced to use the extremely inferior Copenhagen as a substitute.
So, how do you Ontario snusers on this forum get your snus? I heard that there is a shop selling in Toronto, but I have not been able to get hold of the name or the address. How is ordering from Northerner and similar webshops, does the packages get through or does Canada Post steal your stuff? If/When you order online, do you usually have to pay tax? Is it safe to order online?
To sum up, what are your recommendations to me if I want keep on snusing?
I apologize to any Canadians taking offense, but the stealing of my snus was just about as much as I could take. This is where I draw the *bleeping* line!

you can order from Northerner.com ....... or I'm sure there's someone selling snus in Ontario .... look for some tobacconists they know for sure.

yes just order off the internet Northerner.com or Buysnus.com and you might be able to get your snus in duty free being as you are a Swede that is just in Canada for 2 years but you would have to check with Customs for that , best bet would probably get your wife to send some more from Sweden and have the contents clearly labeled and send it insured .

Hell that sucks, but I know all about it. I have several people in canada that buy from me for the same reasons.

There is a way I can ship it to you and theres not much chance customs will take it or that you will be charged an outragous price for tax, if any. I just can't mention how I do it here. PM me if you want. check this link out.....

I live in Canada, so i share your frustration. Get your wife to toss afew rolls in a box wrap a t-shirt around it, hell fill the rest up with candy. Get her to tape the hell out of it and label it as a gift.

I have ordered from several forum users here, Thanks PP and the others. I have never been dinged when getting snus sent from fellow snuson member being from the states or from Europe.

I live in Edmonton, so i have no clue where in T.O to get it. My stash is running low if it wasn't i would send ya some to keep your nic levels up till the goodness arrives at your door.

I do have several orders coming in, once i get them i will let ya know and send a few tins your way. Are you just an Ettan Los man? I do have some coming by the way

Sorry, no los. I mainly have the new flavors/brands that they have recently come out with. Helps everybody to get a chance without paying a ton for shipping if they only want a few tins. Out of several hundred tins here I think I have one tin of los. Someday I'll become a real man.

our beloved Canada post, pun intended, it is a game of cat and mouse with them. I order from Northerner when I get banned snus, but the rest of my snus is from the US shipped to my US address in WA. Order from PP and you should get your snus without any "interventions". I just received a big order from Northerner, that is shared with another member here, when I placed the order I warned the other member that if it is caught by the Nazis we are basically screwed, lol, and it arrived without anything, just PMed him telling him the good news

Let me get this straight. In Canada you can basically smoke marijuana out in the open, carry it in your car, etc. and not get hassled. But snus on the other hand, good Lord no. God forbid you use a benign tobacco product. Freaking crazy, and wrong.

They cut the envelope open, it was a extra large strengthened envelope that should not break. The idiot/s made little mistake though, the cut it open on the non-opening end so it was easy to see what had happened. If they would have consulted their second or third brain cell they could have opened the envelope on the other side so that it actually would have been plausible that it got open during shipping.

Sadly the Canadian war on snus makes it impossible for me to hope for a duty exemption based on me being a Swedish citizen. My wife will try and send me another batch, this time in a steel container needing fingerprint and retina scan to open. How much is the Canadian duty if customs sees the content if you send a private package alternatively order from Northerner? Back home I use a can a day, I have come to realize that such usage will have me bankrupt with my present salary and the extreme amount of tax Canada has on tobacco. It is really strange, Sweden is know for having high taxes justified as being moral (economical) incentives for the unruly masses to feeble minded to understand what is best for them. I had no idea that Canada, at least when talking about tobacco, could be worse then Sweden. Well well, you live and learn.
