    Oden's Snus can question.

Firstly, I'd like to say hello to everyone. First time posting. Been on this site for a long time but never got around to registering til now, thanks to my busy lifestyle.
Secondly, I was thinking about something when I first received my very first can of Oden's from the Northerner. It has no used portion lid, as you all know I'm sure. My question is why? I find those lids to be VERY useful, especially since I use my snus at work. I work at a major retailer chain, the biggest in the world, (if you know then you know I wont be saying it's name ;D ) and I snus all day long as none is wiser. Im ALMOST glad that snus hasnt taken off so well that people wont check for it actively, but at the same time whos going to know really?
Back on subject. Does anyone out there know why Oden's doesent have that used portion section on their lid? My only thought is for aesthetic value, to make the can look different than other snus cans? But would they really be so un-original as to maybe not think up something else aside from omitting such a useful thing? Jackobssons snus has, in my opinion, a very beautiful can with the compass rose outline on it. Surely Oden's can do something original enough other than get rid of the used portion area? Any thoughts or opinions on this matter?

I personally don't use the can lid all that much :^)

you can use an empty can from another snus brand hope that helps :^)

      Welcome to SnusOn!

To answer your question, I'm sure it's to shave cost. It costs more to make a catch lid. Less money in the can means more money in your pocket ;^)

Yeah I cut away the used portion part of an old General OP can, as its small and does the trick. But even so, I wouldnt mind Odens to have one you know? XD

I don't use them for used portions. I usually put my daily vitamins in there haha.

I don't see the point in using them. It's gross. Lol

When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I don't use them for my used portions unless it's absolutely necessary. Instead, I usually throw one or two portions of a different brand/flavor in my daily snus can just in case I crave something different throughout the day.

I do something similar. Like when I said above how I cut away all but the used portion part, I can haul around one can of say Ettan, but have a few portions of generals in that smaller container I keep in like, my watch pocket.

Yeah I can see that coming in handy. Especially like you said with Oden's or the other cans without catch lids.

I don't know. I like the catch lids. I use them often just 'cos it's even more convenient than that going to the trash. I'll get there soon enough and empty it out. They get cold though, well I guess room temperature but they are gross later. I've even crammed used los in them. I think that all snus cans should have this option.

I'd also bet that the expense of the catch lid isn't really even that much at least in proportion to the other expenses such as taxes and shipping, etc. I would only add cents to the can. To us the percentage increase would be minimal but it's the price point. The company needs to meet a price point before sales decline to ensure the desired profit.
