Some questions on Northerner prices and shipping.

Why is it that Northerner charges $15 dollars shipping to ship a single roll from the Getsnus werehouse in the US , when Little Brown Smoke Shack can manage to only charge 7? Ups shipping price is set by weight, is it not?

Also, you can get a roll of General at little brown for $38 out the door, shipping included, but at Getsnus that same roll will cost you $62.97, almost twice the price!!! - why??! Just classic price gouging going on here? You would think the actual distributor would have the lowest prices . . .

If little Brown sold Thunder, Id never shop anywhere else again! Think I'm gonna give them a call and see if I can work something out - maybe a recurring monthly order(sound familiar?) or something....

I really don't know. I buy General at Speedway for $4.45 per can, after tax. If I purchased 40 cans of General from Northerner, each can would cost $4.86!

Minimum package weight for UPS ground service is 1lb with the price varying depending on UPS zone the shipper and receiver are in. The 21+ signature verification adds another $4.21 to that price. The minimum price I pay for shipping from Northerner is slightly lower than the price quoted in the online rate calculator at UPS.com for 1lb with 21+ signature. If you order from Northerner it doesn't make sense to buy less than one pound of product.

Little Brown is operated by a tribal member on the Yakima Reservation. It would appear that they do not ship with the signature requirement. They can claim some status as a sovereign nation under the treaty that was negotiated between the Yakimas and the Federal government years ago in exchange for giving up the land that they lived on and moving all of their people onto a reservation. How they choose to deal with federal law and the individual states is probably determined by their interpretation of the rights granted to them under the treaty and subsequent court decisions that further define that relationship.
