If I was still smoking cigarettes & the amount I used to smoke I would be living in a cardboard box working twenty hours a day just to support the habit. Then again I remember swearing I would get a horse before paying more than $1.25 for a gallon of gas in the early 90s. I still have the truck, oh how I wish I could find gas for $2.25 a gallon. :? I wonder how many old timers are still out there complaining about how a Coke used to cost a nickel.
I've been rolling my own cigarettes since about 1990. At the time I was going to quit, so I figured rolling my own would be more difficult and I'd smoke less and stop. I just got better at rolling cigarettes :^D I can drive winding country roads with my knee and roll a cigarette at the same time now LoL. I only smoke about 2 cigarettes per day when I have smoking tobacco, and I never travel with it. Snus is now my main vice, and I only smoke because I want to :^)

The cheapest gas I remember(paying for myself anyway) was about $.80 per gallon. For a short while though I was able to get gas for $.55 per gallon when Montgomery Wards went out of business(anyone remember them?). They were selling their gas at what I would guess was close to cost. I was living good for a few weeks, especially since my car at the time(a VW Thing) could use leaded gas, so I didn't have much competition for the fuel :^)

At first when I quit smoking, I used a ton of snus. Now that I'm over smoking, I use snus about 5 times a day. Sometimes less.

I use mostly los snus and tend to suck the juices out of it so it's only in about 15 minutes or less.

So, I use snus for about 75 minutes a day. Fortunately, it's not like smoking where you have to stop what your are doing to enjoy it!

Companies should suggest snus use to smokers inside the company who waste time by taking smoke breaks. Or just let them smoke in the office! More nicotine and coffee equals more production and better morale.

I for one would be happy to take my bonuses, at least partly, in snus, but I can't imagine what the playhouse square (www.playhousesquare.org) legal dept. would think about the company encouraging tobacco use

The only time I don't is while eating and usually not while sleeping. The Only twice have I fell asleep with a big pris in the lip and about a dozen time I have slept with a Wise 6mg. I am a little scared that I may snore and choke, but the Wise portion is an excellent sleeper choice (because of its size you can embed it to stay put in the upper lip). Another note sleeping with Wise can give you a slight sore throat, since it is strong for its size and can coat your throat with nicotine that you may not swallow on as regular as if you were awake.

I can’t quite express how nice a fat lip of snus is after lifting weights or running a couple miles on the treadmill. I take a long shower, get dressed and then almost make a ritual out of it the way opiate users might.

The risk of snus use is small enough, and the reward is so great, that’s it’s a pleasure I want to continue for many years. Thus, I’ve decided to cut back on my snus use, truly enjoying and savoring the moments when I do, in fact, snus. I find I enjoy the flavors so much more and the nicotine buzz can’t be beat.

So, the upshot to my long winded answer is that I snus 2 or 3 times a day.
It takes some discipline at first, and I would never judge how much any one else deems is the right amount of snus in a day, but I am finding I'm saving money and enjoying snus literally 10 times more this way.

Oh...all rules are sometimes out the window on weekends, but I'm working on that. And there are sometimes when I'm dealing with nic fits....it aint always pretty.
Dead Rabbit, I have a similar relationship with snus and use it about 2-3 times a day and 4-5 times on weekends.......I snus mostly at the end of the day, which kind of mirrors my smoking habit before I quit.........

In the last two years of smoking I would try not to smoke at all during the day because I couldn't deal with the smell and became quite self conscious that clients might smell it in meetings......so smoking was confined to evenings......usually standing on my balcony in the freezing London weather....pleasant..

Smoking also made me feel like crap every time I did it (the battle between nicotine addiction and hating the fact that I was addicted) so I tried to limit it while still feeding the nicotine cravings......

Obviously snus is completely different and all of my issues with smoking fell by the wayside.... but I still find myself gravitating towards using snus less than I would have expected.....

An example....I always brings a portion or two to work in spare tin (yesterday was Gotlands Yellow, today is GR#1) but I rarely find myself using it......mainly because of the nature of my work (client facing), but also because I don't CRAVE nicotine all the time.....which may be because of the difference in nicotine delivery in comparison to cigarettes.......I have even noticed that when I am really busy I think about snus and the pris I am going to have when I get home, but I don't need it then and there.....delayed gratification?

Having the snus tin on my desk is a great comfort though and there have been a few days in the last month where I've popped in a portion mid-afternoon....and every day I look forward to that first pris or portion when I collapse on the couch at the end of the day...

I put in a pris after breakfast, and then its a new pris generally every hour or so until I go to bed. I don't snus when eating or sleeping, but the rest of the time I generally have a pris in. I want to cut down a bit, but I'm going through a 'challenging' period in my life, so I let myself snus as much as I want....at least for the short term.

More than 85% on average. Sleeping with a portion or prilla also is no problem at all, when I, rather seldomly, feel the need to do so or when I just fall asleep while snusing.

                  Cheers!

^lol my girlfriend and her mother think the same. They tell me not to believe all the stuff I read on teh internets.

I have a strong portion in the morning during my 1 hour drive to class. It's usually either N&J, Onyx, or Skruf all portions. Then I won't have another portion until after lunch. Just medium-nicotine original portions.

I'll have another portion on my way home from class.

Finally, after I get home I break open some los and have a pris or two, or I'll have a pris of los and then another portion before bed.

About 5 portions/prillas all together so I guess 5 hours out of day.

Good Lord you people snus a lot. Maybe I say that because I work in a completely tobacco free workplace. Yes, I could get fired if I am using snus, dip, or smoking. I use snus for about an hour in the morning. I have it with my coffee when driving to work. There are many sad people that have to trudge across the road to smoke on public land during their breaks. Even when I smoked I would not waste my breaks getting some nicotine. I suppose that is why I enjoy my snus so much. I have a portion in the morning, a portion at night if I have beer, and a loose to top it off when I am watching tv at night. This is my after dinner snus. To each their own, but I enjoy snus whenever I use it because I am without it for 9 waking hours a day or maybe 13 hours when I work late. No matter, I enjoy it immensely. Cheers.

I am usually awake 19-20 hours of the day. Of that time I have snus in anywhere between 75-85% of the time.

I have fallen asleep with snus in before, but I typically wake up a couple hours later when that snus juice that has been percolating in my mouth for hours finally rolls down my throat. Then it's back to sleep with no snus.

A completely tobacco free workplace?!? That shouldn't be legal... It is of course. All the places I've worked are no smoking inside, but otherwise goverment laws regarding illicit drugs apply. I'm pretty sure if I was at a place that went no tobacco products at all I'd quit on the spot. Partially because I don't think I could handle it, but also because of principle. I suppose if you work in the medical field (e.g. a hospital) or deal with John Q. Public a lot maybe then I'd get it... dunno, I don't have those types of jobs .

I'd have no compunction whatsoever about slipping in a Wise mini or something in an oppressive, fascist environment like that.

I'd say I'm probably snussing 80% of the time I'm awake. I don't have the dexterity or the inclination to eat and snus at the same time. I used to snus to break a 20+ year cig habit, so I've given myself carte blanche with the snus.. I'll probably cut down or moderate at some point. One thing I've been doing is experimenting with less intense snus (i.e. not being jacked up on Skruf Stark all the time).

Rad! Good job quitting! I had to have rocket fuel at first also. Now, for some strange reason, I am partial to knox and kronan. Both are cheap snus labels with really good taste and texture! As a heavyweight ex smoker I think we like full tobacco flavored snus more than the minty or herb stuff. I tried the nick and johnny and didn't like the taste but the buzzzzz was great.

                                What else have you tried?
