    Canada post AGAIN

Sorry to rant, but I received a package on Nov 4 with 164 on duty, marked it as return to customs for revaluation. Today Nov 19 received a postcard from Canada post saying if I don't claim my package it will be returned to sender !!! down at the PO guess what??? my return to customs is still waiting for me, what? I was fuming, anyway, they called customs and after the girl told her to speak to me, when I was handed the phone Canada customs has already hung up !!!!!! man, I can not say how mad I was/am. long story short, paid the duty and now going thru the mail process of claiming 100$ of PST ... thank you Canada post, I wish I can manage them for a day or an hour, oh man, that is a sweet dream

Wow, that's brutal. The last time I sent a package back for reevaluation it just disappeared. One of the problems I have is that my "Canada Post" Post Office is not a real post-office even though it looks like one. It's located in a drugstore, and the employees are drugstore employees. I've tried to explain to them at length the processes available to the importer, but since they are so rarely used I end up receiving blank stares or argument. I suspect you have the same problem?

I printed out and gave them a copy of this page:
    http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/po...ation-eng.html

You may even want to highlight the relevant sections, and definitely speak with the manager to make sure they are clear on the process. If they have any questions they should be calling the CBSA.

I'm curious about which badge number evaluated your package, and what was the total weight of snus in the package?

Good luck, my last refund took about 3 months to process. The whole system is completely ridiculous.

Snarfblat, thank you, it is exactly as you put it as if you were with me, my 11 years old son was with me and he asked me are they stupid or what? that is totally torture from them, my neighbor says that Canada post requires workers to be stupid if one is not he/she is removed from service, lol, I told him then come on man, but now after what I see from dealing with them and even in other provinces I believe that this is the case.
the Nazi badge number is: 19006 081/231. Is it the same center that process mail for the entire Canada or does it go by province? I have mailed in my dispute today, I claimed the total amount 164$ and some change arguing that it should have been sent to them on Nov. 4 and not wait in the outlet up to day and indicating that it is time sensitive items with expiry date and requires refrigeration to be kept for extended period of time, I hope it lands with someone who has some brains left and sympathetic or even fed up with the system that will authorize that, long shot but worth the try ... I will update this thread as things go

I think the CBSA processes mail in Montreal, Victoria, and maybe one other place? On form E14 it should have the CBSA phone number, and mine seem to be coming through Montreal (Mtl.)

Canada Post guy just came to my door. Got charged $42.58 duty & tax for one roll of LD White (went with the cheap stuff this time).

Don't have the receipt but I got charged roughly $34 a couple of weeks ago for a roll of Ettan White, so I know what you mean about the inconsistency of it all.

          Merry Christmas!!

I know you didn't direct this to me, but forget a ferry ride better off with a hollowed out car.
