    My First los

So I picked up a can of General loose at a local tobacco shop the other night and just tried it this morning. I think I like it, it isn't as salty as the General portions I've had so far and I can feel the nic doin' it's thing.

I have to say that it was messy and I think more snus ended up on my hands and desk than under my lip... I watched a vid on YouTube to learn how the make a pris(I think that's the right word for it) and it didn't work very well for me. I've seen many people mention the use of a syringe before buying an icetool, is that a good way to go?

Since I'm enjoying this, I am going to add some more loose varieties in my next order, and maybe an icetool if the syringe works out for me.

I lost my los virginity less than a month ago, now it's my go to thing. Practice the handbaking, you'll get the hang of it. One trick that works for me is moisture. Moist snus is much easier to bake, so I tend to add a few drops before the can goes back in the fridge if handbaking becomes a pain. Others here will be able to add more.

I've used the home-made thingy, as well as a Prismaster, but I think the hand baking is best. Just grab some, like Play Dough, and using your fingers make a PEZ sized pellet, hold your lip open and insert.

tom - The pez thing worked perfectly, hands were relatively clean and no mess on my teeth this time.

Zanaspus - this stuff seems pretty moist, but I will keep the water thing in mind if it starts getting difficult to make the little pellets that tom suggested.

Thank you both for the suggestions!

Just an update on the pez thing... it worked well and is a comfortable size but it doesn't feel like quite enough nic, I guess if I am going to use smaller amounts of snus at a time, I should go for some of the stronger stuff. I like the skruf stark portions, and I'm enjoying the general los, think I will like the skruf stark or ES in los?

Try making a large PEZ shaped pris. As well, get some stark or extra stark los, and you should be able to use a smaller pris.

Try General Extra Sterk. I think the flavor is better than General los.

Best advice I can give on the strength of snus is to just try them all and you'll find the ones that do it for you.

Also, if you don't have a good pocket developed in your lip, a larger pris of los will be harder to control regardless of the method used to put it there.

Check out the Dippers Guide- it's about all things los. There is a lot of good info and helpful tips there to get you started.

                You will find it here

And Tom that is some very good advice. Most folks who start with los tend to bake the pris too big and end up with a slide. If you need more nic try skruf stark. It's a great los and easy to manage

Oh and welcome to the forum NJdrew.

I have a couple of orders on the way, but I'll add some GES to my next order and give that a try too. Thanks.

I'm just starting on my los journey and I don't know what to say just yet... I lost my los virginity yesterday morning and have only had Ettan so far. I've pinched and shoved, hand baked, and used a tool and every time this stuff BURNS THE HELL out of my lip! Not to mention I'm kinda griped that I can't really tongue the prilla like I do my portions. And I seem to get more taste out of the Ettan portions.

Ettan's not the best first lös imo. It took me awhile before I got a lot of flavor out of it. Now, it has a huge flavor. I'd try something like LD, Gotland, General... then come back to Ettan. Also, you'll be able to poke and manipulate the pris after you get some experience. It just takes awhile to develop the right touch, and figure out what you can get away with. I can switch sides in my mouth, and poke the pris no problem.

Alright. I got some Gotlands Gray as my bonus can on my los order at Getsnus so I'm going to go ahead and crack that in a few and see if it improves my view of los. One thing I can say about Gotlands before ever even tasting it is the can is superb. It feels classic, high quality, and classy. It just says "Hey... you're gonna like this shit." :-D

listen all you gotta do is use your forefinger and thumb and pinch and pack it in the can up against the wall of the can.
get a nice pinch and shove it under your lip with your tounge tucking it in.
simpled, effective, not messy, and quick.
                            tools/handbaking are unnecessary

But they're both fun. Hell, like I said in my first post above - I've pinched and shoved already in the short time I've been using los. Sometimes I feel like baking or using my tool for the novelty of it, though.
