I wasn't a fan of los, but the ettan was good.

I didn't like it cuz my girls would see me and ask why I was eating dirt. It wasn't convenient for me at all. But if you like it great! Glad you got some to try at least.

haha. if only my son paid that much attention. he's clueless. of course i wouldn't want to do it at the office or when i'm expecting someone at home what if something goes wrong and i get it all over my teeth? this is to be done (by me) when i'm comfortably at home

That was pretty much my exact impression of los too.

Grov los, Gote Rape los, General los, any of the Skruf line....I used primarily portions when I started, now it's about 70% los. It just tastes better to me, but when dealing with clients it's still portions because I can put a portion in and never worry about it.

              Placement

My question about los is, where exactly do you put it?
I mean, my main gripe with los, is comfort, and not falling apart.

I've tried to avoid my 2 main front teeth, and trying more for the side, past the canine, but the far end seems to break apart easily.

I've been handbaking, which I think I'm pretty good at, though I may be making it too big, and I need to work on a more comfortable shape.

I'm think of trying it dead center next time.

                I'm in the same boat.

I'm been doing los for about 3 days now. I have been putting the pris just offside of the two front teeth. Seems to work out.

I'm been handbaking on the loose side and enjoying it. Now, I like it better than the portions (never thought I'd say it). I do the portions when I'm at work and out and about.

I just had to express my pleasures of los. Thank you snusdog

I put my pris just to right or left of front center. As fas as comfort goes, it's totally up to the grind/brand. Roda Lacket has the best mouthfeel. Skruf Stark is the King of loose to me, but General Exstra Sterk is catching up.

Unless you are already using sterks, stay away from Skruf ES, Oden's ES (kanel), and Frosted. I do love ES Kanel and Frosted but they are quite powerful.

lawofficegirl, if you havent figured it out yet, the best way to remove a pris is to hook your finger and swipe from the back towards the front.

I'm really thinking of getting a few cans of Skruf Stark los. Thanks for the inspiration.

this sucks i have been thinking about los all day can't wait to get home and use it. i have offroad mandarin in right now and its yummy. but i still want to go home.

and btw, i put it to the left of my fronts (above my incisors) it seems to fit pretty good there, i am hillbillying it for now but i seem to have found a good comfortable size and ettan seems to stay together pretty well.

When I first started loose I was worried about the mess and disposal so didn't use it at work. Hand baking can still be a little messy but I use my Icetool most of the time. Depending on how much i'm talking, a pris will stay together for as long as I want it there. I do stay away from the fine grinds (Roda, Prima Fint) at work. They slide down my teeth really bad.
To dispose of a pris at work, most of the time I walk to the break room, do a 'hook and scoop,' drop it in the trash can (with the coffee grounds) then rinse my mouth out at the sink.

Yeah, you just give it a bit and you wil figure it out. I used to use los only at home, but now its pretty much all I use. You just kind of figure it out. And your snus pocket starts to form.

Also, I find that los doesn't drive me to chain suns (or anything close). I can keep a pris in for an hour or two, spit it out and then wait at least a couple of hours before rolling up another. Portions I find that I want another as soon as I spit one out. I think this has something to do with how quickly the nic and flavor comes from the portions and slowly it comes from los. Just one man's experience with los, but I think it is part of the reason why I find myself mainly using los.

Not really into Los. Tried a bunch of times, just not convenient enough for me. Hate the mudslides, dirtyness, etc etc. Cant do sh*t without it turning into a big mess.

The only time I use Los, is occasionally at home when I aint got sh*t to do. Then Ill throw in some Grov.

Always keep a can on hand for those rare occasions though, as Grov portions aint the same for me, for some reason Grov=Los.
Roda is the opposite for me, love the portions, hate the Los.

                            Maybe I'm just weird. :?

I hand formed a portion sized pris yesterday, and stuck it dead center top deck, and I must say, this was the best los experience I have had. It did not break apart, like it always did on the side, the flavor was there, and I kept it there for over 2 hours.

I'd say keep doing that. It's worth it, in my opinion. After a while you may find you shift it slightly to one side, or maybe not. After a few weeks it will start to become second nature.

I find that hand forming works better for some lös in particular. At least it's a whole different thing as far as flavor release. An icetool pris will last longer, but I like the quicker and fuller flavor I seem to get with a loosely-packed pris, especially with General lös it seems.
