First real Snus -- General Mint White Portion

Well I got (half) of my first order today. I started a little bit ago with Camel Frost like allot of people i guess.

First thing i tried was the mint. All i can say is WOW!!!

The taste is amazing, very much like real peppermint stays kinda cool in your gums and lip and has a very nice balance of sweetness. The portion material they use is fantastic!!! Its so smooth feeling compared to the Camel frost. I dont find myself repositioning it for comfort as much as I did the Camel, like its more pliable lol. It seems to also be a wider pouch so its not so clumped up. Faint after taste of salt...not too much though. I think the mint balances it out.

The Nic hit to me feels stronger than Camel frost as well, I dont know if its just subjective or not... Almost a little to strong, I wasnt really a heavy user to begin with.

Im very impressed and it was definatly worth the wait to get it. Now if only my sampler pack would come in.....

I also tried the Discreet strawberry... Not so impressed....

I just thought I would stop and share my first impressions with you guys..

Cool. I really like the full size General Mini Mints. Not an all day snus, but a nice after dinner treat.

After sampling the mints and the other flavored stuff, I went onto non-flavored stuff. You might want to give that a try. you may want to start with something a general white or orignal to get your feet wet.

I have some mini mint samples in the fridge, but I haven't tried them yet. I enjoy mint a lot, but I've gravitated to the plainer snuses. My very first sample box had a tin of Grov portion in it, and I saved it for damned near last thinking I wouldn't like it so well. It ended up being one of my top favorites of the 24 tin sampler. You have to ignore any preconceived notions with snus, and just try everything. You may find you like things you never expected.

Agreed. I was a menthol smoker, but I use more tobacco flavored snus then mint. I do like the mints though, just can't use them all day like I did with Camel Menthol Lights.

If you think that the nic is strong... be VERY CAREFUL before you try a stark portion! It'll give you a headrush that will knock you on your ass :!:

I said in my general mint review that it is the best mint smokless tobacco I have ever tried and I meant it. and everybody else who tries it says the same thing.

Swedish Match made an awesome mint snus better than any other mint snus and mint dip.

As a marlboro menthol light smoker for 12 years, i must say that i also thought the same thing and i do love the mints (general mint, mini mint, thunder frosted) however, i enjoy the unflavored snus much more and i keep the mints for an after dinner treat. or before bed treat. i do like the discreet flavors as well, just because they are very sweet and curve my sweet tooth.

Good to hear. I've been an avid smoker of around 5-6 years. Right now I have 6 cans on order of Thunder Frosted Extra Stark, Strong Portion Snus, They will be here tomorrow. Yay, Finally. My next order I will be placing will be General Wintergreen. I want to try it. Everyone says they love it. Right now I cannot WAIT till tomorrow comes.

I haven't tried any REAL swedish snus yet. I am psyched to get my first order! I actually had it rushed to me just because I really want to get it lol. Next time when I order my General WG I will use northerner with regular postal service, so I don't pay out the arse for my snus(Along with quitting I am trying to save money).

Thanks for the post I love what I keep hearing about Gen WG.

If you like the General Mint, you'll sh*t yourself over a General Wintergreen. IMHO of course.

GW absolutely pisses all over the Mint.

BTW - The General Mint doesn't really count as a "real" Swedish snus. Make sure you get some Grov, Ettan, General, Roda, etc etc along with your Wintergreen. And get you some Thunder Frosted if you want to experience a real minty kick in the face!

Though, once you go GW, you'll never need any other snus! All I really use anymore is General Wintergreen and Thunder Frosted.
