After you try the Thunder.............make your next order a variety (with a couple of more natural flavors thrown in for good measure)...........It is a wide world of snus out there...........it's good to have a feel for the range of offerings

And as always.........if you don't like something at first...........put it in the freezer and revisit it in a few months

Now about your original question..............I chained dipped (Copenhagen/Red Seal/Timberwolf, etc....)........and now I chain snus........when I came over from dip to snus............I found the regular strength snus was just fine.

Thunder is Extra Stark (i.e. Extra Strong)........If you get a slight headache when you first put it in.....that is the nicotine disagreeing with you

Anyway....keep us posted on what you try and how you like it

    Oh..........and welcome to the forum!

Ordered up some Thunder, looking forward to giving that a go.

See thats the thing I live in the UK, when people ask me what I have in my lip and I say "Its some WG dip" they are always like "huh? wtf is that!". Its pretty much non-existant here and I have never met another english man that has done dip here in the UK, afew buddies that I played hockey with still dip but that's cause we all played our junior hockey in Canada and got into it there. So generally if I'm out at the pub and throw in a dip I do get the stares lol, but then I see all the smokers going outside and I'm like "hahahaha suckers!". Again with snus afew of the fins that I played with on our local hockey team here in the UK they all snus'd but I just never thought at the time to try it, I was too into my dip.

The first time i tried general wg it taste like i had a wad of wg dip in. Everytime i talk to a dipper interested in snus i recomend it because its the only snus ive tasted thats close to dip.

Funny thing is snus was my gateway to dip, hahahaha. I was a smoker, and have the occasional one, and the E-cig can work ok. At work though neither are an option and I try to keep from the action as best I can. Snus is the best in my opinion, but reality is it is getting more and more expensive to acquire stateside and I live in the SE US where dip is readily available at more than competitive prices.

As a dipper I tend to take small pinches and will alternate, left right, lower upper, as far as placement. A can of dip can last me a week or more. So I don't consider it too big a deal that I am using dip more than snus. I would prefer to use snus more but it is what it is...

I didn't even think of that, but yeah it does. I was focusing more on los as I think coming from dip it will make the best transition.

In my world view I call that on the large side. But yeah, I stick my recommendation for Thunder Frosted Los as a starting point if you were putting down the Copenhagen WG LC like that.

Hey Ken, usually I get about 7-10 from a can wish I could cram in more but I had an operation on my neck afew years back and they had to tighten the tendon that runs through my lower lip so I cant fit as much as I used to. I'll head over and have a read through the dippers guide to snus again (i had perused it before but I'll take it in this time).

As for frequency etc, I usually put in medium size pinches about 4-5 times a day, and get a good buzz for about 10-15 minutes or so with leaving it in for around an hour or so. I'll order up some Thunder and see how I get on

    Thanks again all
Thing is it is hard to figure out what a medium sized pinch is. How many pinches do you get out of a can? Some dippers a medium pinch is 1/4 of the darn can. Either way you probably won't go wrong with Thunder as a starting point. It is a stronger snus, and getting los means you can adjust the pinch size to your liking/needs. One thing, as snus is upper lip usage vs dip being lower lip usage, snus tends to have a more slow and smooth to build nicotine hit, where as dip tends to hit you out the gate a bit quicker. More of an equation of placement than them being different. In the end you can put snus lower lip and dip upper.

There is a sticky thread around here that is a Dippers Guide to Snus. A lot of good info in there for you.

As someone who dipped frequently, los snus was way different than dip. I love Skruf los, and Jacobsons Melon. Oden's are all good, but the Wintergreen will be disappointing if you expect a big wintergreen taste. General loose tastes alot like Copenhagen Southern blend dip, IMO.
