Bought expired snus

I bought Jakobssons's snus from a shop here. It wasn't kept in a fridge at the store and the expiration date is 04/15/12. Can I still use it?

Yea, it should be fine. The flavor may not be at its best, but it won't be harmful at all. I've never kept a tin at room temperature to know how long they can go without flavor/moisture degradation.

The only store in my area that sell Swedish snus Jakobssons is always expired. I buy it if I am between orders it seems to be ok to me.

I bought 5 rolls of soon to expire Jaks a while back. Wintergreen and original stark. I kept it in the fridge, not frozen, for 3 months past the exp date. It seemed to be just fine to me.

No flavor and no nic hit. Like I said it wasn't kept in the fridge at the store so it was sitting there for over 3 months expired. Next time I'll make sure to check the dates before I buy

It seems the shops thru snus distribution that i have seen only sell Jakobssons mint and wintergreen or thunder frost and wintergreen but the jakobsson is the only one that is expired.

I'd like to know which shops have expired snus, so that I can have one of my sales guys give them a call and remedy this situation. Whenever you see expired snus in a retail shop, let me know. Thanks ;-)

Hey all, I just bought some General Snus from the store (got a free trial pack too, yay!) and I had a question about expiration.

First off, they keep it in a fridge box of some sort.

Secondly, it expired 2 months ago and didn't notice it til I checked it when I got home. Says 6/20/2012 on it.

Is it still good or did I buy some bad snus?

Got a General WP in my lip right now with the same date. No problem with it at all. Actually found a can I had left under my bed of General mint a while back. It had been under there for at least a month unrefrigerated and two months out of date, and was still pretty damn good.

Yeah, especially if it was refrigerated and they were portions, they should be fine. When I first tried snus, that same thing happened to me. I wouldn't worry about it.

Any Swedish Match loose seems to have a more defined expiration date due to the cardboard cans. It can be fixed though. I just leave a piece of wet paper towel inside a dried out los.
