Newbie from the UK with the usual questions

Hello-

Just signed up. I'm from the UK and have the predictable questions. I did use the search function but, of course, 'uk' being too short for searching and 'united kingdom' and 'england' and 'english' and so on turning up page after page of posts that didn't really get at my questions (or did, but the posts were ancient), I ask....

What's the situation with ordering snus for shipping to the UK? Reputable vendors? Recommended brands/varieties that those same vendors have in stock?

Just browsing around, it looks like there are some places (like Northerner) shipping a few select brands of, presumably, non-EU produced snus? Or shipping strange brands of American snus from America?

If there's a UK forum or subforum or FAQ, by all means point me in that direction.


After smoking for 20+ years, I have been using an electronic cigarette exclusively for about 3.5 and my former boss was ok with it. Now I'm interviewing for new jobs in places where it probably won't be and investigating the snus-route. Someone at ECF recommended this as the friendly place to go, and it certainly seems to be....just not having luck with that search bar....

Hi Barnacle Joe - and welcome!

I'm afraid you've just missed the boat regarding being able to get a nice selection of decently priced snus easily in the UK as we've just been hit with a dreadful EU ruling that basically bans buying from any other EU country including Sweden as it has been established in court that if you purchase on your computer in the UK then that's the jurisdiction that applies. Bizarrely you are still entitled to visit Sweden, buy some snus there and bring it back with you within certain limits.

With Northerner - they're only selling snus made by V2 in Denmark, Gotlandssnus in Sweden, Odens in Sweden and Pioneer from Laos. Trouble is they have to come from the USA warehouse and any decent sized order inevitably ends up in the hands of customs and can be delayed for a good long time (over a month for me recently).

www.Snus.de is a "closed shopping community" and as far as I'm aware still ships most brands except the Swedish Match ones to the UK. I would offer you an invitation which I'm entitled to as a member - but it seems like no-one I've given that invite in the last year or so has been able to join which is a shame.

I don't know if www.Odenssnus.eu is still shipping to the UK but it looks like it does. This is direct from the manufacturer, they make Odens, Odens Extreme and Olde Viking brands. They're great quality snuses and the service I've had from them has been ace. They are also incredibly cheap too.

Unless someone can correct me that's the only way you can go at the moment from credible sources. Most of us stockpiled a lot of snus a month ago as it was clear that the going was becoming tough for us so haven't had to. If you want to try some to see if it's worth the hassle for you PM me and I can send you a small selection of what I have over (some of which you can't get without visiting Sweden now).

There is a sub-forum for EU snusers and for UK and Eire snusers. if you click on the "Community>Groups" tab on the menu, you can choose to join either of them - they are more active at the moment because of the crisis.

Finally ... well done, you have definitely come to the right place. Snus is an amazing way to discreetly and politely maintain your nicotine habit whilst weaning yourself off cigarettes - it is something like 95% safer than continuing to smoke too. With all that it is also a connoisseurs game with a multitude of flavours and textures out there that you just wouldn't experience any other way and it's why we here on snuson.com love the stuff.

Hi, and thanks all for the warm welcome. Seems as if after registering a number of sub-forums opened up to view and found a lot of threads answering my questions.

Getting off cigarettes was so easy it doesn't warrant back-patting. Did it 3.5 years ago with an e-cig. Now I just need to stay sane at a (cross-fingers) new job where that won't be allowed either (probably). Looking forward to trying some, hoping it's as good as I hear.

you can buy from www.snusline.com only V2 and thunder but at very cheap price (you can order 3 at time, for 6 pounds, and custom doesn't care for little parcel from israel) or northerner, but now ship only thunder and v2 at price 3 times higher than snusline.

If you do a big order, better with odenssnus, they use courier that is free over 1500 svedish krone (150 pound, good for 60 tins)
