New to snus from the dipping world

Hi,
I am a casual dipper and I recently found out about snus roughly about 2 months ago.
I read that it was 'healthier' than dipping and decided to try it out.

I occasionally would dip Skoal cherry long cut and sometimes Copenhagen Wintergreen.

The thing with dipping is I noticed (especially the first one of the day) a significant rush/buzz within 5 minutes of dipping.

With the snus I have tried, particularly the General White portion, I don't feel that rush/buzz feeling even after several minutes.

On the other hand, with the General Wintergreen portion, if I use two portions, I feel the rush/buzz come on very quickly, similar to dip.


Is the White portion a 'slower release' and how long do you usually keep a portion in?
I always wind up going back to the Wintergreen because it seems to be more powerful in terms of the nicotine delivery.

The other thing that is frustrating, is that the availability of snus here in Maryland is limited to just some of the flavors of General
(White, Wintergreen, Original, Mint).
I'd be interested in trying other kinds but I also notice that online ordering, Maryland is not an option on the dropdown menus for delivery?

If you have a store in mind that might be willing to carry snus, you might want to talk to Rickcharles on this forum. He works for Northerner and sets up the brick and mortar stores. I am not sure where the thread is but search for "The Dipper's Guide To Snus" on this form. It might have some useful information for you. Welcome to snuson!

Well if you live in Maryland, you are screwed buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maryland prohibits ordering snus from any where over the Phone, internet, Telex, mail. Your Governor is an asshole! I know this because he is my Governor too.

You will not be able to source any products legally except the expired wimpy overpriced selection that you have now. You will have to get creative! I now swim out past the 200 mile limit and place my order in a bottle, then fight off sharks while waiting for the delivery. Or drive into West By God Virginia to see my friends, they give me lovely parting gifts. Welcome to my nightmare, and God bless America! Then get a rope.

Here is a little hint - B####us is not in the USA, they do not care what the Governor says, but this will put you in line for the Maryland correctional system, the comptroller of the treasury in MD has absolutely no sense of humor. And while you still can, please feel free to use the phrase "that asshole" when using the term "Governor", it is important to exercise your free speech rights while you can, this guy has no limits on what he thinks he can "Tax" and "prohibit". But feel free to enjoy the new "Casinos".

I'll give you some advice from a former dipper.

I dipped 1 can of Grizzly Wintergreen LC daily before switching to snus. I started off with regular portions and they just weren't strong enough. I didn't really feel anything when I used regular portions. I had to switch to the ES (Extra strong) portions. As soon as I switched to the ES portions, the buzz was back and was stronger than ever. Check out some of the strong portion snus if you are not getting what you want from the regular portions.

I'd recommend the following,

Thunder Frosted ES
Oden's Extreme
Odens' Kanel

Thunder Frosted kicked my ass. I was using 1 can of Grizzly wintergreen LC daily, and it still gave me a strong buzz. Oden's is the same. Both are great snus.
