Introduction

Hi All,

I've been reading the posts here for the past few days and I just figured I would join and introduce myself. I've been smoking a pack or more per day for the past 15+ years. I've tried to quit several times with no luck. I recently heard about SNUS and decided to give it a try to kick smoking.

After doing some research I discovered that actual Swedish SNUS was superior to the American version so I picked up a couple of the General offerings in my area, a can of Nordic Mint and a can of Classic Blend. After dealing with a bit of unpleasantries that was to be expected as a first time oral tobacco user, I actually enjoyed using SNUS. I prefer the Nordic Mint to the Classic Blend though because the Classic seemed to be a bit too salty for me, plus I used to smoke menthol cigarettes so it seemed like a natural fit.

I've been virtually smoke free for about 4 or 5 days now, and decided that I liked SNUS enough to place a small test order online at SNUS Central. I ordered 1 can of Below Zero Mint Strong Portion Snus, 1 can of Probe Whiskey Portion Snus, 1 can of Skruf Strong Loose Snus, 1 can of Offroad Coffee Supreme Portion, 1 can of Jakobssons Melon Strong Portion snus and 1 can of Jakobssons Licorice Portion Snus. Are these decent choices for a beginner? What other brands/flavors would you all suggest?

Try the Skruf Stark portion too, it differs from the los. Both are good imo.

Your taste will change so try everything. There is no wrong first order. As you see what you like you will find what flavors to stay away from. Do try some Ettan though. It is a plain , neutral and simple snus. And delicious.

Very funny indeed! I was aiming more toward the Star Wars character, but great pun none the less!

I was looking at Ettan, I've seen a lot of positive posts about it I will have to add some to my next order. Any suggestions for what kind of Ettan I should try?

I am interested in the Thunder offerings too and the Oden's Extreme. I am actually looking for a bit of a stronger nic hit than the General portions have but I was concerned those might be too strong for a bigginer. Do you have any experience with those two? Should I hold off on them for a while or go for it?

Thanks for the welcome! Really enjoying SNUS and feel like I can really get away from smoking for the first time.

Is Probe Whiskey a good flavor? I figured it would go well when having some drinks. I was also looking at the Brandy Alexander (can't remember the brand name), will probably pick that one up on my next order to give it a try, I've seen a lot of people saying it's very good.

Odens Extreme is not as strong as it seems. It has a nice release that is slow and enjoyable.

Thunder smacks you in the face with nicotine. Sometimes you need that.

Ettan OP or los if you are digging the los. Everyone should try it once.

try a bunch of differnt stuf i have been in the snus/dip would for couple year and love trying new stuff. as far as snus i cant pick for my self what i like best but dip id try skoal stright, skoal sperment, skoal mint, cope winter green. all simular to menthol and u can get all them from the cornner store

welcome Qui (sorry but I don't call anyone master) I have been able to stop smoking using snus after a heavy smoking habit for 40 years. I stick with the portions. My favorite has been Granit snus but am not able to get any longer due to the pact act. I use general classic and winter green and once in a while throw in something such as Jakobsson's ice fruit of another mint. most of the time I like straight tobacco flavor. Good luck with your non smoking quest. Where Im at in Illinois there is no where to buy snus unless I cross over to iowa, then the selection is limited to General only.
