    Trying the alternative again

    Hi everyone,

I posted on here a bunch of times and have appreciated any all support i've gotten thus far. To give some background to the post, Im a 3-6 a day cig smoker, and have a job where i need to go 4+ without having a cigarette. The problem is I could deal with that, but my job relies on quick thinking/reactions, and after 4 hours without a cigarette its hard to even see straight.

What im saying is I want something to tide me over in between cigs so that I wont get cravings and my cognitive reasoning and memory dont suffer so much. Now, ive tried snus, but that really makes me dizzy and doesnt exactly feel right. Ive tried minis, leaving them in for shorter amounts of time, different flavors, sterks, everything. It might be because im not used to that much nic, but I've heard of something called nasal snuff, and wanted to know everyones opinions on it? I heard it hits very quickly and leaves quickly. But does it take care of that cig craving (or at least push it back an hour or two) and allow me to function at 100%?

What im saying is im OK with my cig habit. Ive been able to keep it to this limit for four years, I dont see a reason why it would ever have to increase as long as im disciplined, and that risk is ok with me. What do you all think???? Thanks in advance

Nasel snuff gives you a pretty quick rush, and in my honest opinion would be just as much as a extra Stark snus o.o If you want to give me the benefit of the doubt, try a can of Ettan Original portions, if you havent already. They are mild, smooth, and the nic rush isnt even noticable (i doubt i would ever call it a RUSH to be honest its more of a steady trickle). Its a very balanced snus.
I know youre looking for suggestion on Nasel snuff but I cant say it would work for you considering what your telling me how you hate the sudden rush of Nic. Hard to say. Ettan is best as far as I can suggest to you.

I would suggest keep trying snus and don't be afraid of the nicotine. You can't concentrate because your body wants a ciggarette. Put in your snus 15-20 minutes before that feeling comes on. The nicotine delivery is quite different, but overtime you will like snus better. Yeah and try snuff!

I dont feel 100% normal with snus, even if i have a cig with it or not. Not sure why.

I just want to sqaush the cravings. Thats why snuff looks appealing. I read that it only lasts for a few minutes, while snus can last for hours (i can attest to that). I would like to feel like nothing at all is in my body 5 minutes later- like i do with a cig.

Just looking for a way out. Hate suffering for a couple hours everyday.

I understand you perfectly and I've been there ... listen..

Basically you're are addicted to cigarettes (but technically speaking you're addicted to nicotine) ...

Snus will deliver the exact same nicotine (6 regular portions of snus will deliver the exact same nicotine contained in 5 or 6 cigarettes) ..

At first, before quitting cigarettes I used to feel the same way ... and didn't think I could quit with snus...... you know why?

You're not only dizzy because you're not getting your nicotine fix with snus (there's over 4000 chemicals that your body is used to) and snus will not deliver those chemicals. Moreover, it's the psychological addiction that's the hardest to get over .....

I'd say that a 5 - 6 cigarettes a day habit is not that hard to kick....... stick with snus (regular portions) ...... and you should be fine in no time....

No one says you have to get hooked on snus but it will help tons .... and completely drop the cigarettes (snus and smoking doesn't go hand in hand.... you're taking double the amount of nicotine) ...you need to either stay with snus.... or with smoking (not both) .....

Snuff is a different beast... overdoing snuff will make you nauseaous .... it does give you a faster kick ... but the kick doesn't last all that much and you'll shortly need another pinch.....

          I do take snuff.... but at most 2 - 3 pinches a day ....

          hope that helps

I would wait at least an hour after your last cigarette and then put a snus in - then you shouldn't get a headache or anything.

                what he said
remember your first pack of cigarettes? They were awful. The coughing, dizziness and burning of the lungs. But you kept going because it makes you look cool in front of your friends haha. Cigarettes have an acquired taste and snus isn't much different in that respect. I didn't like snus all that much at first but knew it was WAY better than smoking so I stuck with it and I couldn't be happier. Snus is the way to go
