Whats flossing? Who has the time to floss? Whats the point? Whats a dental hygienist for? Why am I 43 never having flossed in my life and have only two fillings? Why are Americans the only country that use or have the time to floss? Floss is for poofs.

I actually made the switch to snus from dip because of the gum recession on my lower teeth/gums. My dentist referred me to an periodontist about my gums, but I never made an appointment, and due to my school schedule have not made another dentist appointment (my dentist is closed on Fridays). I am happy to see that your dentist had good things to say about snus. I hope it is less damaging then dip was.

Since I began seeing this dentist, I started taking a lot better care of my teeth. If you hate flossing, as I did/do, I recommend the "floss picks." They still suck, but are a lot easier to reach the back teeth. Your gums will probably bleed for a while. Mine are still kind of tender after a couple years of regular flossing with the picks.

yeah baby! My dentist said the same thing after I quit smoking, teeth and gums have never been better! Luckily he was aware of snus as he studied in Sweden.

Yes. I started snusing when I was about 13-14 years old together with smoking at that time. Right now I haven't smoked a single cigarette since june, and finally feel I've quit for good. My last visit at the dentist was several years ago, so I was a bit worried for today, especially since my wisdoms teeth are popping out (and one has been bugging me).

The guy asked me if I smoked or used snus, I said I snus like crazy and that I quit smoking with it, and he said "that's awesome, then you won't get lung cancer", followed by "snus is good for the teeth, but it's important to change sides". I have used the left side since my start, but I think he barely noticed.

He told me my teeth were in perfect condition and that no action probably wouldn't be needed for my wisdom teeth. I just needed to start flossing which I never do and never have done. I had a tiny bit of tartar (I think that's the word) which he quickly removed. He then scheduled my next appointment in 2015, just because "it looked so good".

I always got cavities when I was small; each visit they found one or more that needed to be drilled. Since I started snusing I haven't had a single one, even if usually I just brush my teeth once a day in before bed (due to rushing in the morning).

This might be genetic to a point, but I'm very happy with the results, and just thought I'd share them.
