Breaking: Another oil rig explodes in the Gulf

    Here we go again:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/02/AR2010090202733.html?hpid=topnews

An offshore oil rig exploded Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico, injuring at least one worker, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The rig is believed to be on fire, Colclough told CNN in a live telephone interview.
Multiple Coast Guard, Navy and civilian vessels are en route to the site of the explosion west of the location of the April 20 blast on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig that caused a massive oil spill.

Yea...I got a text from CNN stating that people were dead and about 5 minutes after that msg, I got a text from foxnews stating that there were no injuries. Geesh..I can't wait to see what will happen from this, I'm guessing this is just the beginning of yet another massive leak.

One of those documentaries said a lot of the gulf wells are ticking timebombs and the one with the major leak was actually in the best shape of them all.

These rigs don't work in the ocean, when are they going to understand that!?! This month is also the start of yet another dolphin slaughter in Taiji : ( Breaks my heart

This whole situation makes me think of that bridge that collapsed, somewhere in the midwest (Minnesota?) I believe. Anyway, people were killed as the bridge collapsed which prompted authorities to inspect bridges around the country and found many to be in need of major repair due to cracks, even in many newer bridges. I guess if you go looking for trouble, you can always find it. Just sucks that massive damage seems to happen before problems are focused on. In the case of these oil rigs...it doesn't seem as if the problems have been really looked at, yet. I dunno...on a positive note, I'm glad everyone on the rig is okay.

Lots of misinformation coming from the Obama Regime on this one.

I know your behind this somehow Frosted. I know for a fact within the next 5 days there will be evidence to tie you into the picture, of that much I am sure!

And truthwolf: Yah, they are ticking timebombs. For years and years they havn't been properly regulated (or regulations ignored because they bought out the regulators). Even the BP one for example, there were many complaints files, even right before the explosion saying things like "Immenent threat" "extreme safety hazard" etc but they get ignored. One of the inspectors was on there like a day or so before the explosion and said he wanted to be airlifted out before he finished because it was not safe enough for him to be there.

This is what happens when corrupt people like FROSTED buy out our government through lobbying.

I wasn't aware that the Obama administration had commented on this news story. Care to enlighten us and correct the alleged misinformation?

Robert Gibbs immediately stated there were no live wells on that rig. Not true. There's around seven.

The White House tried to downplay the whole situation.

Maybe we should start a pool to take guesses on who will be the first to blame this on Bush.

I read that there were only natural gas wells on that rig, but I'm sure that's not all. Haha

I am glad the workers survived and hope that this doesn't turn into another incident like BP had.
