      "Howdy Doody Show" writer Edward Kean, seen here in 2001 when the Howdy Doody
      puppet went on display at the Detroit Institute of Arts, died Aug. 13 at age 85.

      Howdy Doody Show

      Who among today's 60+ year-olds can't recall places like Doodyville, Pioneer Village or the Peanut Gallery? Or how about those unforgettable characters that we all loved, Flub-a-Dub or Dilly Dally?

      For 13 years (1947-1960) we all rushed home each day to see the The Howdy Doody Show. Do you remember Clarabell, Chief Thunderthud, Princess Summerfall Winterspring and the evil and cantankerous Phineas T. Bluster?

        I think you mean 60+ year olds. I'm 34 and the only thing I knew about howdy doody came from my folks who were born in the mid 40's

                I am 59 and I remember The Howdy Doody Show, well. When I was a little kid, it was my favorite.

                  If you're old enough, reminisce;
                  If you're just a 'youngster', see what you missed:
