Do you get pain Meds for that? Oh Vicadin.. Making life feel hunky dory. I had to take it do to a herniated disk. I actually was smiling at work happy to be there. Now I know why people get addicted.

I had one about 3 years ago. It announced itself at about 10pm the night of my birthday. I've never felt something that horrendous before. On the upside, injectable drugs at the ER rock!
They gave me a prescription for Percocet but that was actually worse than the pain itself. I took them for a day and felt like I was in a total haze.
I shot the 4mm bugger out and fished it out of the toilet just for grins and giggles. That little bastard was as sharp as a knife on two sides. I can only imagine the scaring I have from it.
The upside of it all? I had it mounted on a ring for my wife. She asked what the gem stone was and I told her it was a Cystinuria stone. While it may not be a diamond, I made it!

I had one about 15 years ago. They gave me an injection of Toradol at the ER, and more in pill form to take home. It's not supposed to be mood-altering, but all I can say is that 15-20 minutes after I got the shot, the pattern in the privacy curtain became very fascinating.
Of course, the pain prior to being medicated was pretty awful, and I never want to go through that again. Nowadays, whenever I feel the slightest pain anywhere in the kidney area, I start taking capsules of cranberry extract. It acidifies the urinary tract, which will usually dissolve enough of the stone so it can pass painlessly.

I had one back about 9 years ago, was god awful pain and heaving every 15 minutes. Passed it as the morphine drip started, haha. This one I haven't had the same severity, but the ER drug was sure nice and i'm vic'ing up now. He estimated it at 5 mm, said 50/50 chance on it passing. :/
Having it mounted is an outstanding idea!

I had one.
Brutal.
I never want one again.
The pain pills I got didn't touch it. I took so many I passed out. Then the pain woke me up. I remember crying and sobbing like a little girl who skinned her knee.
I went to the ER because I was pissing blood. Not all blood, just dark urine. I had no pain at the time. I was pretty concerned, enough to go to the hospital. I had an MRI. It seemed a bit over the top at the time to have an MRI for bloody urine. They told me I had a stone, gave me a prescription for pain and sent me home with a funnel and a screen to pee in. I was like, "why the prescription?" They were like, "first one huh!"
I could never imagine or comprehend anything could ache and hurt that bad. By the next day I was in agony. There was no position that was comfortable and the feeling of a serrated knife rolling inside me was crippling.
At the time I was consuming massive quantities of Gatorade and other sports drinks. I was also taking "burner" pills. I don't remember exactly which kind, but it was ephedra and stuff to lose weight and keep energy up. It was summer time and I was working in a hot ass factory, not hydrating enough.
I guzzle water all day every day now. I tossed the diet pills and don't do much Gatorade drinking anymore. I doubt the sports drinks did it, but I associate it with my experience.
I NEVER want one again.

I just bought some cranberry juice because of this thread. I'm gonna try to start drinking it regularly now.
