    Strange charge on credit card?

Anyone ever have a charge on their credit card that looked like this? "CHECKCARD 06/20 UPS*ADJ00104718492501
800-811-1648 GA ". I'm trying to figure out if it has something to do with snus that I had ordered or something else. I'll be calling them tomorrow to find out, just wondering if anyone has seen this before.

You might want to check that with Lazer - he is quite familiar with strange credit card charges.

Google tells me (as per the 800-811-1648) that is certainly a "UPS" something or other charge. Lot's of folk posting about 'ripoff'.... I sure as hell hope this isn't what I think it is. My unwanted 'brokerage' fee awhile back for their stupid 'after the fact mystery bill' was mailed not charged to my card.

Just speculating and I wouldn't know how they could legally do that.... I would certainly call that number as you mentioned and if you can't get any satisfaction, call your CC customer service #.

On a similar note. Everytime I order Snus I get an International Service Fee.

I have a feeling it might be about this:

            ROSEBURG, OR, US 06/17/2010 2:26 P.M. DELIVERY
06/17/2010 1:43 P.M. THE RECEIVER WAS UNAVAILABLE TO SIGN ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE
06/17/2010 8:51 A.M. POST OFFICE BOX ADDRESS. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN AN ADDRESS TO WHICH DELIVERY CAN BE MADE, NOT DELIVERED / THE ADDRESS HAS BEEN CORRECTED. THE DELIVERY HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED
            06/17/2010 7:30 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY
            06/17/2010 7:10 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN

Thats the only thing I can think of. I sent a few rolls of snus to someone I know, but didn't require a signature. So I don't understand the part about "THE RECEIVER WAS UNAVAILABLE TO SIGN ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT"

I'm guessing that the ADJ part of the UPS*ADJ00104718492501 means ADJUSTMENT.

Ok, probably something to do with the "Signing" requirement and no one available so "Reschedule Delivery"...

Wonderful, Something else we will all have to get used to with this PACT bullshit. Now if we aren't home to sign, we incur even further charges I bet....

I logged into my UPS account and now I see it was delivered to:

                25
                *** VILLAGE DR
                WINCHESTER, OR, US 97495

not the PO box. The dude I sent it to probably wanted it to go to a PO box because he travels due to work and isn't home alot. What morons. I don't think he would have liked it snus sitting on his doorstep for a few days while he was out of town.

I can't wait to get them on the phone to bitch at them about this. If they don't reverse the charge I guess I'll just call my bank and dispute it.

Don't forget, you'll probably need that 4 digit CVV code as well.

Thats definitely the problem. UPS (and FedEx) can't deliver to a PO box only physical addresses. The surprising thing is that they took the time to look his home address up and re-deliver. I wouldn't think that you could dispute this one.

What I don't understand is if they only deliver to a physical address then why does it let you use a PO box as an address? It should prompt you right there and tell you that.

Have to wait till 8am to call. It wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't come so dangerously close to being overdrawn, my back account has been staying pretty low due to PACT act stocking up, and the fact that it's almost double what I paid for shipping.

I recently retired from the Postal Disservice and I can tell you as FACT that our office received almost daily shipments from both UPS & FEDEX for package deliveries to our PO Boxes...

Started a few years ago with DHL... UPS & FEDEX complained about it and USPS cut a deal with them, too...
