Lol, that campaign video makes me want to drive to alabama and steal Dale Mcmillan campaign signs. I mean he actually made a campaign ad telling people people they better stay off his damn lawn and stop taking his signs/ruining his grass. LOLOLOLOLOL
Anyone who has ever lived in the south knows how funny and horribly stereotypical the campaign commercials are. I think the winning formula is some guy looking like a cowboy, talking like it's some cheesy westerner with a big chaw of cope in his mouth, and always involves a gun of some kind. I love the message but man it's just funny to me as a resident of CA.

I don't know what the law is in Alabama? However here in Oregon
you would go to prison if you shot someone stealing a lawn sign.
You can shoot someone in your house here if they have committed
a felony even if they are not threatening you. I assume a home invasion
is a felony itself. It must mean that if your door is unlocked and someone
walks in it is not a felony until they do something further like coming at one in
a threatening manner. But if the door is locked and they enter by
breaking in you can shoot them in the back I believe. I heard a DA tell
of this also on local TV.

I know here in Oklahoma our self-defense law is actually titled the "make my day law", a kick back to the old Dirty Harry movies. We basically have no duty to retreat. They don't even have to enter the home. If they are standing on the outside perimeter of the residence and just attempting to gain entry you're good to shoot. As long as you can articulate that you were in fear of your life.Originally posted by Joe234 View PostI don't know what the law is in Alabama? However here in Oregon
