The bonus side to that though is that the ones who come here on work visas and overstay are really not the threat in my opinion. They went through the checks and were given the greenlight to come here to work or whatever so they are less likely to be criminals. I'm not that upset at those coming here for work. I have illegals in my family and they are of the "overstayed the visa" type. They came here, had some issue with getting their visa renewed (due to unnecessarily complicated bureaucracy), and stayed behind.
They now own a very successful business that employs several family members and they live in a nice house with 2 SUV’s and are very well off. These are not the kind of people we need to be worried about, we need to get them into the system so that they don’t have to put their houses under other peoples names (who then take advantage of them) and hide constantly. We want productive hard working people in, criminals out. At least that’s my take on it.
