    Tattoos

The other threads i have found on this are old so i felt inclined to start a new one.

Anyone here into tattoos? If so, tell me about your interest and share some pictures.

I myself am very much into them. I currently have five and the end goal is to get back down to one. To get this thread started (hopefully there's interest in the topic haha) i will post some pictures of mine, going in the order i acquired them...

First at 18, self took, bad angle

    Second at 19

Third/Fourth at 20(worked on one, went in the next week worked on the other etc.)

    Fifth at 23 (in progress)

I just got more work done today haven't taken pictures yet, probably tomorrow. Will post/ keep updated as it progress if you guys are interested. (Part of the work i had done today includes a band of script around my ankle that reads 'Beam Me Up Scotty', seems kind of fitting with the recent Star Trek thread lol.)

A lot of pictures, but that's part of the point/ fun of this thread lol. Tell me what you think, ask questions, and tell me about your tattoos if you have them.

Very, very amazing tatts. Stunning  wow!

I'm proud to say that I'm one of the few that don't have tatts :P

I only have 1 tat and I hate it and cannot wait for the day when I can have it removed.

When I was 16 I was real into street racing and me and my little club of buddies thought it would be cool to all get this tattoo of racer flags with smoke rising off of them outlining a skull. The skull itself was just the color of my skin, but I used blacklight tattoo ink, so while it looks like the skull is just the color of my skin, under a blacklight it glows bright blue like a white T-shirt would under a blacklight. I thought it was the coolest thing at the time but now I just want it off. My wife never misses an oppertunity to make fun of me for it lol.

@Deadohsky, Dude the space station space thing you got going on in that one tat is awesome. Also the artist did an excelent shading job on the portraits, top notch man.

                Thanks for the kind words.

bipolarbear1968 - Thank you; There's defintely something to be said about that. As annoying as it is, it does seem there is a 'fad' with tattoos now, pretty much more original to have none lol. I got 'addicted' after my first. I'm at the point that when i see bare skin on myself i see it as wasted space.

Veganpunk/ timoteo - vegan, if you feel like it, post some when you get a chance. I love tattoos, interested in people's feelings/ reasons behind them if there are any beyond 'it looked cool, i like(d) it; guilty of it on the second one i got, the forearm one. Timoteo, i use photobucket, offers different ways to post based on where you are placing the photos, pretty simple, if you need some help let me know.

sgreger1 - Do you have any interest in getting anymore? Actually sounds like a decent tattoo minus the black light ink (not my thing personally). Thanks for the compliment, i'm anxious to see it completed. Hard to express how excited i am about it. I don't know if you have seen it or not, but the space stations are from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Owens187 - If you get the chance or if there are any pictures that your artist took post 'em, like to see them. Any idea what percent you are covered? (I ask since you said you have 'TONS'.) I'll probably be around 90 percent myself by the time i'm done, if not more. The only limits i've placed on myself really is to stay away from the face. Hands, neck, and back of the head are all fair game at this point.

Bigblue1 - Don't mind at all. The portraits are of my parents. I wanted something different than the 'date of birth and date of death' thing so i went with a picture of them when they were younger and then one when they were older as i remember them.

Thanks for all the kind replies so far guys.

The portraits turned out great. I don't have any tattoos, but I wouldn't mind getting a picture of my daughter tattooed on. I doubt I will because I've seen some horribly botched portraits around. With cartoon type things, sometimes good enough's good enough, but a portrait is either right, or it isn't.

Don't let the desire fade. There are a ton of great artists out there. All of my tattoos have been done by the same artist so far. Jesse Neese of Nuclear Ink Custom Tattoo in Omaha, Nebraska, i'd post a link but don't want it to be misconstrued as spam. Suppose i got lucky and found a good artist right off the bat. If you are curious just search for it/ him. One artist i really want to get some work done by is Ron Russo. I can't remember what state he's in (pennsylvania?) but i know he is on the East Coast, but he has some amazingly photo-realistic portaits/ tattoos. Look him up and maybe make a road trip. I honestly believe that tattoos/tattooing is a very strong and beautiful statement of love; for art, life, family, etc.

One thing about portraits though; they can be misleading. When i first saw the pictures of the tattoo for my mother and saw the younger version of her i got worried when i saw her eyes, i thought he ****ed up. I instantly grabbed the actual picture to compare them and low and behold, she had a lazy eye. I didn't notice that until i had a tattoo of her. It threw me for a loop, but i was grateful that he was so spot on with transfer from picture to tattoo/skin.

I just have 2 tats, kinda wish I never got them sometimes, but, they are both OK. Got them on my shoulders, so I can wear shirts if I want them covered, I got them for myself, not for others anyway.

I got an OM, or Omkara, and a Pagan Sun Wheel.

one of the few that doesn't have any myself. I just remember some of my friends getting ridiculous tattoos and thinking "they're going to regret that". I've lived to see the day some of them do(some have plans to tattoo over old ones, but that's a big headache as you can imagine).

Every year or so I go through a "tattoo phase" in which I look at other tattoos and ponder getting my own. I haven't yet, not out of fear of regretting it, but just not caring enough to do it/pay for it. maybe one time will just be the right time, though.

I have thought of getting 2 more, but I'm not sure.
I like the Eye of Horus, and the Tibetan Buddhist Knot.

                              Nice tatts peeps.

I don't have any tatts at the moment. But I have been seriously thinking about getting a smiley face tatt on the bottom of my right big toe. That way no one will see it unless I show them............and it should give any EMTs, doctors, nurses, coroner,or furneral director a chuckle. I can just see a white tag tied to that smiling toe.

Seriously, one day I will get it.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
