    24!!

Anyone else as addicted to this show as I am? Damn, I cant get enough. New episodes on Fox, and for those who do watch, HDNET has been playing every single season (in reverse order for some reason, season 7, then 6, then 5, currently 4), one show per day 5 days a week. I DVR it, so on my day off I get this freakin 24 marathon going on. Which is Sweeeeeeet, because of the way they make each show end with a damn cliffhanger!! The only bad thing is keeping the old and new story lines straight. lol

The only season I saw was when the nuke wnet off in LA and they had to take down that defense contractor. Outstanding show but I never finished it.

There is nothing on the planet that makes me more livid than ending a show in a cliffhanger. But 24 does it in a particularly piss-me-off kind way, I mean they are just short of cutting the episode in the middle of jack's last sentence it's such a cliffhanger lol.

24 Is my mom's favorite show. She actually will plan around it and not answer her phone while watching.

I have watched it a couple of times and also found it pretty entertaining.

My personal opinion though is not very good about a show that pushes the idea of accepting torture and keeping the sheep continually scared of the false terrorist threat. I see it as training propaganda like a lot of other entertainment these days.

The main reason I dont believe in terrorists or even have one ounce of fear in me about it is because of our wide open border issue.

Any logical plan for a real threat would call for a stronger defense which has not been done since day 1.

It is always about how we are going to install body scanners or pat down Grandma and your kids while underwear bombers still can get on planes.

First of all, to believe there are no terrorists is just, well. wow. But the reality is that the terrorists are fighting for control of their region and don't actually put any real effort into attacking us in the US. If they wanted to hurt us here, they could buy a few rifles and give them to 10 guys, and have then all blow up a gasoline semi truck all at the same time in different parts of the country. It would shut down transportation and everything would be chaos, all costing maybe a couple thousand dollars.

Then we have the CIA continually beign caught funding and supporting high level CIA people like that one dude's brother in afghanistan froma couple of months ago.

But your right, I shouldn't have to take my shoes off to board a plane untill:

        *The borders are secured
*The opium fields are burned in afghanistan so they can no longer finance terrorism

With these major loopholes going untouched, how is me taking off my shoes going to make the country safe? What happened to strategy, cutting off their supply line etc.

This is why I say if we are not over there to win, lets withdraw our forces and save the money. They will collapse in on themselves anyways.

Exactly what I was getting at. That is really all it would take and yes they claim that we have halted a number of these "situations" but with everything we have done over this decade to them you would think there would be some monthly if not daily events happening.

Golly, I guess we are just plain lucky and no terrorist would ever think about coming in the back door.
