    New Borderlands content is out

So I thought I'd let all the Borderland fans here know the new DLC is out and I played it for hours last night and it raises the level cap to 61 and is massive. It is bigger than Zombie Island and is hard as hell at first because every enemy is above your character's level. It is great. This should have been game of the year for sure. Hopefully they just keep adding to the game.

I forget what exactly it is called but something about koxx's vault and yes it is bigger than zombie island. It is massive. Me and a buddy played for like 4 hours and didn't even come close to finishing it and only leveled to 53.

Okay so I got the DLC last night and came into it with a level 50 character, and guns that dessimate the enemy almost instantly.

Then I die litterally about 30 times before I can get through the first 10 steps on the 1st mission (clearing the roadblock). Apparently all their guys are level 52 so I was using all of my ammo for every gun just to kill 2 guys, and lost 6 million in having to respawn.
Now I have to go back and level up at least twice before i can start playing the DLC.

Did you have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Yeah man that is what happened to me and my friend. We died quite a bit. Those Drones on the roadside are crazy. We eventually learned not to fight them and to slowly move forward when fighting atlas soldiers untill we hit their rank. We both have legendary weapons for every weapon class that regenerate ammo so the ammo wasn't really a problem but dieing was. My gamertag is TSgtTrav if your playing on xbox. If your on when I come home from work tonight You can join us. I'm a level 55 now so I don't die as much. Still die sometimes though.

How do you get ammo regeneration?

Yah im at level 52 now so I should be able to hang. Ill be on tonight and i'll hti you up if your on. Another thing is that no enemies every drop any good weapons. About halfway through my first playthough I got the weapons I am still using now, and not once have I seen any better weapons come out, yet they don't seem to do that much damage.

I just can't believe that I find the best weapons halfway through the first playthrough, I must be missing something.

You can find really good weapons on zombie island. I also found alot of good wepons in the weapons vending machines. They cost a ton of money usually, but are worth it. I also have a class mod with +2 find rare items. Sometimes it helps, but most of the time it doesnt.

My experience is tottally different. I have never once seen a vending machine offer a weapon of any value to me, and I never, literally never find better weapons or shield etc. I have a shield with 1200 in size and a charge that's really high too, but my assault rifle only has like 129 damage and a fire rate of 7. I mean there must be better items out there but they seem to evade me even after 2 playthroughs. Very frustrating.

Speaking of class mods, what is all this crap they have like "overlord skill" and "infiltrator skill" and all these other things that are not described, what do they do?

Well You just have to look for the dark orange weapons or yellow. Hell even some of the purple colored ones are good. Sometimes a orange weapon will have lower main stats than a green but if you read the stuff at the bottom of the weapon card it adds a bunch of crap to the weapon making it bad ass. Like thats were it will say the gun has regenerating ammo and stuff or add like 80% damage to it making it way stronger. I have a shock SMG that does x3 shock but also regenerates +15 ammo per second and adds like 25% damage. It's main stats are only 83 damage with a 10 fire rate and a 28 round clip. I have green SMG's with better main stats but that thing is way more powerfull than any of them.

Oh and as far as the class mods. I think those refer to the skills you can unlock with skill points. So it would add that much to that skill.

Yah maybe I need to just experiment with some other weapons.

The ones I have dont have any shock/explosive etc anything on them, just raw numbers and damage multipliers.

I can't wait to get off and play today though, this raise on the level cap is amazing. Nothing makes me more upset than wheni reach the cap, it's like there's no reason to play anymore.

Thats the problem right there man. Those element damages are where it is at. My favorite gun is my Hellfire SMG with 135 damage 12 fire rate and x4 fire. I shoot someone and they catch on fire and hitpoints just keep dropping off. I can usually just shoot them a few times and then they burn to death.

Maybe I have been going about it all wrong. I thought the damage, fire rate etc numbers were a culmiation of the combined effects, and described it's total damage. Since the multipliers and elemental effects are in addition to the base damage/fire rate etc I suppose I need to get me some new guns!
