Just watched THE ROAD.
This is by far the most depressing and disturbing movies I have seen a awhile. It is about a father and son heading south after a apocalypse and staying clear of people who have turned into cannibals because of lack of food.
After seeing this I have no intentions of trying to survive a 2012 scenario in some bunker to realize the long lasting hell which is on top.

I recently watched 2 great newer movies.
Just today, I saw Avatar. When it came out, I didn't think I'd like it, as I haven't taken too well with the over abundance of CG effects films, it just seems like every movie these day is a 3 hr CG fest. But it did look somewhat interesting. Well, my buddy loaned me the DVD, and I was really impressed. I really liked it a lot, even the ending. I was very impressed.
Another one I watched last nigh was Ninja Assassin. I love the hokey 80's Ninja films, especially those of the Tang, Lai, Ho filmakers of China. I again, was thinking this would be modern CG craptacular, and again, I was wrong. This movie was pretty awesome. Of course it can't be compared to the older ninja films, and it shouldn't be, this is a well done modern take on ninjas, with a decent budget. I'd recommend this one, and the Avatar to those who haven't seen these.

I might have to add season 1 in queue.

I bought a few DVDs today,
I went to Borders Books, and they had:
Pink Panther 2(2 disc set) for $7.99, so I got that, as I also already have all the previous Pink Panther films.
Then I went to FYE, and got:
What Have You Done to Solange? It was "used", but like new, even the booklet, for $5.71 total.
Then I went to Best Buy, and got:
Bruno, I saw this at the theater, and been wanting it, and they had it on sale for $12.99.
Tim & Eric Show, seasons 1,2,3, these were on sale at $9.99 each. I love this weird show.
So, that's my shopping for the day.

Black Adder is just criminally under appreciated on this side of the pond. It's just insanely funny stuff and is clear proof of Rowan Atkinson's genius. Mr. Bean was great but Rowan as the Black Adder must be considered one of the high points of comic acting ever put on film/videotape. His only equal, and only just barely, is the inimitable John Cleese. A close second to these two have to be Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. John Cleese was once asked whether British comedies were so funny because of the writing or the fact that they were British. He replied that the British people were the funniest in the world but were entirely unaware of it which makes everything just that much funnier.

side note~ I have been watching 24 for the first time on Netflix and still dont see what the hype was about. I mean to be fair I am still on the first season but it took everything I had to get through the first four episodes but it got/is getting better.
King of Kong. Great documentary about Steve Wiebe and his run for the Donkey Kong High Score record. This is just awesome if you are like me and played many a game of Donkey Kong.
