How much music do you have?

On your hard drives..All legally downloaded of course  Mine looks like about 40 gigs. Reason I am asking is because I am in the midst of organizing this MESS. Probably spent 6 hours in the past week working on it:/

Looks like about 107gb. That's about 1/3 of my collection. I have another 1/3 in CDs, and the rest in records and tapes.

Somewhere around 40 GB, but it has been a long time since I actually paid any attention.

Daayum. You must have that large of a collection pretty well organized. I've been consolidating everything I have across all my computers to one new drive then ftp copy to back up. I need a life. Ran out of starks so I'm double barreling GOP's -0_O- One on each side so it doesn't look like someone drilled me in the lip.

I used to take impeccable care of my physical media, but I've slipped over the last bunch of years. I have CDs in my Jeep, discs in the wrong cases, stuff scattered everywhere. I need to take the time to get everything right. I have CDs I've bought, listened to once or twice, and now have misplaced :^/

            Shameful really....

I started buying cd's about 1989.. 1st I bought was anthrax "state of euphoria"<---still plays. I remember thinking they sounded funny. Guess I was used to the drag of a cassette.

My digital music's pretty well organized. I have 2 main folders; Music, and special music. Music is all of my main stuff that I keep in my ginormous playlist in Foobar. Special music is radio shows, and longer or specialty things that I wouldn't want popping up in random play all the time.

                      Edit:
I bought my first CDs in 85 or 86. I think the very first few which I got at the same time were Creedence, Mike Bloomfield, and Bob Dylan. My first record I bought with my own money was in the 70s sometime, and it was Kiss Alive II :^D

I don't have any cassettes left. I probably have 100 or so old heavy metal and motown records left. Vinyl was already dying in the 80's when I first started jamming so they were cheap and easy to come by.

I have a bunch of cassettes, but I don't really listen to them. That format pisses me off, and I regret buying them. Besides that, all my best cassettes got stolen in 91 or so. Somebody went in my car and selectively took my tapes out. They left the ones they didn't want :^D

 once you get used to pressing next and instantly have a song come on waiting for a cassette to rewind or fastforward gets irritating
