When my daughter was 3, we took her to this free lego park in Orlando within distance of MGM and Disney and such. She maintains to this day that she went to Disney World.

Take her there and then take a trip to Vegas with your wife. Get freaky.

I think if I called the ex wife and asked to go to Vegas she would have at me

Oh well. Go by yourself then. Do field research for the mafia comedy I'm writing. :-D

            Mafia comedy?

Remember that old 90's movie "Mafia" with Leslie Nielson? That was a good one.

Nielson isn't in that, Lloyd Bridges is.

To be honest, I'd say you should wait a couple of years before doing Disney. It's really better for the 5+ age group as she won't be able to go on most of the rides until she's three and a half feet tall or more.

At 3 years old, pretty much anywhere you take her that's different would be great and exciting for her. Beach, mountains....whatever.

Do something that'll make you and your SO happy and relaxed and your kid will love it too. Just make sure to include a pool for her to swim and splash in - but also make sure that one of you supervises her near deep water at all times!

Look into Polar Express Train Rides.

Certain railroads around the country recreated the Polar Express ride complete with Santa Claus. LOL

                    It's worth a shot. I don't have kids!!!

                    *has a House moment*

                    ..wait a minute..

Maybe a train trip? Three year old's are old enough to comprehend the choo-choo train, right? Check with Amtrak. They have some great routes all over the country. I did the entire West coast on an Amtrak, it was a blast. Get a suite on the train, and it won't cost you $3500!! Meals will be included, the view is free.

Skip the big trip for a few years. Take her to a bunch of smaller things. Music festivals, ren fests, mountains, canoeing... All of these will be more memorable in the long term, especially the canoeing.

My son could never have survived Disney at 3, BUT, that was MY kid, quickly bored & short-tempered. I learned to plan vacations around him and stuck to things that interested him..children's museums, aquariums, air & space museums (the huge planes attached to the ceiling fascinated him) and though he'd never admit to it now, he loved visiting the butterfly garden! <--that creeped me out a little bit, I don't like any BUG flying around my head! Anywhere you go...pack a camera, that'll ensure she'll never forget her vacation with Daddy!

EDIT: If you go canoeing, leave the camera at home or else bring a cheapie, I had to learn the hard way.

.........then you can shoot over to vegas
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Last summer I took my kids to the lost luggage store in Alabama.

                                Best. Vacation. Ever!

No, not the destination, but the time spent together

It's not what you do but how you do it!
