i figured Sylar would come back after a while. apparently when they "kill" nathan (again) that's when sylar comes back, out of the grave. (as in the trailer)
the comic con panel was REALLY good. here's some info from it:
NOTE: Some small spoilers in this.
After viewing the Comic Con panel I just got emailed, I thought I would post notes from some of the statements by the cast and the writer for those of you following the show, thought you might find some of this interesting.
Comic Con Panel
1. Heroes are returning to their regular lives. How do they do this, try to fit in?
2. There is a group of people a "wrinkle" in the storyline who has been living amonst them, "hiding in plain sight", but found a way to coexist. At a "carnival".
3. HRG's marriage is falling apart. He is setting up a new company. There is "...less interest in bagging and tagging." He doesn't think his family being together is "in the cards".
4. Hiro's illness continues. He gets bad news and realizes his "true destiny in life". He goes back to Yamagato and starts a new business with Ando.
5. Claire is in college. Starts to get a taste of a normal life. Becomes friends with a "very interesting girl....come on we can have fun right?" (the rumored lesbian plot).
6. Nathan said it will get interesting with the journey that he and Sylar will share.
7. Sylar gets alot of fun this year, he is in 2 places - one as Nathan, and one as he starts to emergy. The other is inside Matt Parkman's head, as he messes with his mind, too.
8. Peter got the next to loudest applause other than Sylar. Peter returns to being a paramedic. He has alot more humor now and smiles more about things since "nothing is new to him."
9. New character. Samuel (new villain). He is the reluctant ring leader of the "carnival". He says his life is not going to be the way it used to be, they are going to change lives. And he lures the original Heroes into helping with that plan.
10. New character. Says she is "naked most of the time". She is an empath and her tattoos change with Samuel's power (as he is an "earth mover"). Her name is Lydia.
11. Edgar, new character. Part of the carnival. Likes to play with knives, and "that helps him use his ability". He also has "superspeed".
12. Another new character. Gretchen, a freshman at college. Goes to the same college as Claire. Tries to become friends with her immediately, becomes her first true friend since the first season.
Romantic Entaglements. Easing towards a few but none that they want to talk about other than the rumored "Claire/Gretchen lesbian plot".
Regarding title: "Redemption", they have planning this arc of having everyone return to their normal lives. Strip away some of the story elements that made the story hard to relate to. (hence returning to the roots of Season 1).
Redemption - as Hiro finds out his powers are going out of control and he finds out about his illness, his redemption is going back in time and facing the mistakes he made in the past with his "bucket list".
Best things shot in the season so far:
1. HRG - a "car and water". Something happens that is quite dramatic.
2. Hiro - "this season is absolutely amazing". A scene at the carnival.
3. Claire - Going back to "that relationship stuff". The "heartfelt stuff". Getting thrown out a window, also.
4. Nathan - Shot next to Muhammed Ali's house. Also getting "to play with a couple new powers".
5. Sylar - Working with a baby that was "really good at crying".
6. Peter - Enjoyed working with HRG.
7. Samuel - Scenes bringing out a vulnerable side of all the Heroes. Peter and Samuel shake hands.
8. Lydia - The potential that her character has to go off and stir up trouble. First day she worked on set, talking about the detail in this carnival. She found a key and Samuel says its the key to his heart.
9. Edgar - Enjoyed working with Samuel, being a "fanboy".
10. Gretchen - Loves working with Claire. Working with HRG some, because he's scary and killed a fly with one hand
Questions from the audience:
Q. After Nathan died, how is the "soul" of Sylar going to be addressed in the Nathan/Sylar story?
A. Sylar: "When everything you're familiar with is taken away...where does it leave you?" And Nathan and Sylar will both deal with this.
Q. Will some of the "forgotten" characters be developed more? Where everyone gets a fair amount of attention.
A. Tim Kring - This season will tell a less number of stories per episode, and focusing on 3 characters/stories per episode. To tell deeper stories and not wider stories. This season, certain people will sit episodes out.
Q. Will there be more diversity, ladies, people of color, children?
A. Tim Kring - it's very important to be diverse. Stay tuned and you'll see some very cool casting in that area.
Q. Caitlin/West?
A. Not in this volume.
Peter is going to experience a "dance number" with Edgar.
