99% of politicians are intolerable douchebags, and the other 1% don't have any power. And it's getting worse, not better...
Politics Make Me Mad!!

Once upon a time a could proudly describe myself as a Republican. Not so, anymore. I've found there isn't a name-bearing political party to describe me politically anymore. Hell, I don't even want to be described politically, honestly. I'm conservative, not by choice, but by nature. That is what describes me. The beautiful thing is, there is no political party bearing the name Conservative Party. Well, maybe in the UK. Woohoo! Daniel Hannan! Anyway...folks, this isn't about Democrat/Republican or Left/Right anymore. ALL elected officials have the same agenda as far as I'm concerned. That is to advance their own political career, get richer and have more power and money. We get tons of money taken from us from our income and everything we buy and so on and we are not represented worth squat. The power is supposed to be with the people. Government only has as much power as they have because we've allowed it happen. Believe me, government still fears the people. Our government knows that we have developed into a politically complacent and inactive society, so they've gotten comfy with sitting around getting fat and happy on our tax money, also spending our tax money however they want. All the while we get nothing but lying and tap dancing around straight forward questions. I'm sick of it as well. Obama is nothing new and the only change he has brought has been the reverse of what he said he would do. Record spending proposals, firing CEO's of private companies and Czars(?). This dude is DANGEROUSLY radical. If you can't see that your head is in the sand and your ass is in the air to be had. They're all no good, we are in agreement there, but Obama is President now and what's going on now is his problem. He hasn't been in office long, but he shouldn't have campaigned promising to shit rainbows and such. I'm ready for a US Military General or a fireman or steelworker or police officer to run for President. We are better off being governed by ourselves rather than paritisan, two-faced, egomaniacal agenda-hungry ass for brains....like we are governed by now. Hhhh...anyway, ya. Just my two cents.

I'm a conservative. I wouldn't give you 2 cents for most any Republican or Democrat.
The mistake we made years ago was in letting politics become a career. Nobody should be in office their whole damned life. It breeds corruption and contempt for the voters who put them there. Hell, they're taking us for granted!
Our elected "servants" have the attitude that they're royalty. My great-great-great-great grandfather fought in the 14th and 10th Virginia Regiments AGAINST royalty. The least I can do is make sure the fight wasn't for nothing.
Old joke:
Q: Would you donate $10 to help bury a politician?
A. Here's $20. Bury two of them.

I think that most politicians are beholden to too many powerful people to be able to do anything constructive. If a politician that was willing to change things for the better was elected to say the position of president of the US they would be assassinated in relatively short period of time.

Sometimes I think a person goes into office with the best of intentions, but after they see how things work, they start playing the political game - you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. Over time they become more and more corrupted. Of course, most are corrupt before we elect them.
Why would a decent person want into office? I wouldn't want to associate with the people already there under any circumstances.

What about Operation Ajax (denied until the 80s), Operation PBSUCCESS, COINTELPRO, Operation Zapata (The Bay of Pigs), and the great grand daddy of proven conspiracies The Gulf of Tonkin incident which led to the Vietnam war - the documents released in 2005 show that the CIA specifically withheld information from the President and that the attack likely never occurred. Or what about later conspiracies like Air America and Operation Scatback - or the Iran Contra Affair. What about the 1993 WTC bombing - during the trial of the bombers, the FBI documentation showed that their mole that caught the bombers had opportunity and ability to replace the bomb with inert material but was told by his FBI handlers to allow the bombing to take place.
Hell, even the recent "black site" secret prisons setup by the previous administration (and being continued by the current) get those of us that mention them labeled as whacko conspiracy theorists when we show people the proof that they exist.
If it hadn't been for nut-jobs, whackos and idiots that believed the evidence in front of their face, no one would know about any of these things I mentioned (except for the one or two that failed miserably) Yet, we get grouped with the folks that believe we are actually controlled by Reptilians in a bad Sci-Fi rip off of the 80s TV series V.
To think that rich, powerful people do nothing behind the scenes to manipulate and steer world events and politics is a real conspiracy - a conspiracy of complacency and denial.
Trust but verify. It is not a good thing that the vast majority of media we in the US consume comes from 4 companies that all have close Defense Industry ties or contracts. Read or listen to Eisenhower's farewell speech where he warned us of the situation we find ourself in today. To outright accept or deny a conspiracy theory (which by definition just means it is outside of the accepted reporting of events) without looking at the evidence is a dangerous act.

Well put.
It comes down to a very, very, simple equation. You can judge a man by the fruit of his labor. Or, in other words "Who profits or is made better by any situation, is usually the cause or instigator of the situation."
War does not just happen, people as a whole are complacent and docile, it takes strong motivation to start a war. That takes manipulating people and that takes mass media.
Take Haliburton for example, it is the only private entity that has no borders, they own massive warehouses in every major (and some minor) countries. They can fly into and out of any country they operate in without inspection. They profit from every military operation that the US under takes. Bush's family and Cheany(sp) are among several owners in said company. Haliburton is the root of alot of the unseemly "accidental wars" that the US has been involved in since Vietnam. Even the "War on Drugs".

Conspiricy theory or not... to many facts line up to be total hog-wash.

Fox and MSNBC are the same but at two different sides, and CNN just tells you about twitter.
The news just ends up pissing me off. Same with this forum (in the matter of the dumb laws affecting snus). It's like I recently started doing this, and BAM, it could become illegal.
We really need to reorganize the Sons of Liberty.

Let me hit some key-points here
Fox news: Im a republican so obviousely I like it more, but it also has tripple the ratings of any liberal show (which is every other show) and that means that people want to hear it.
Orriginal post: I agree, as a republican, bush strayed from the herd when it came to many things, he was soft on immegration, he spent a little too much although he idd give us tax cuts and the economy was in record numbers under him, and I had my job and my dollar I earned at said job were worth something.
Obama: Obama's plan is simple, he grew up with a lot of santa cruz hippy marxist types so this thought of give all kinds of free stuff to "help" the disenfranchized is what America wants and what will work.
His inexperience shows when he fails to realize that throwing astronomical amounts of cash at our problems has not helped in the past and will nt help today.
Geroge Washington smoking weed: I doubt he did, but he grew hemp like everyone. Weed is a non-issue, if a state wants to legalize it and go into drug dealing for profit than thats fine, if a state wants to let themselves go bankrupt without exploring new revenue streams than fine.
LEAVE IT UP TO THE STATES, MAKE GOVERNMENT SMALLER, END THE FED... Nuff said.

If you were not on the Ron Paul train while it was happening then I am sorry to say you missed being part of the last momentum for real change.
He was the only honest candidate and was a strict follower of the constitution. His vision and leadership would of shaken up to pieces the status quo of Washington.
It was a fun fight but it is over and the patriots lost. There will never be another revolution like that and anything resembling it will be beaten down 10 times as fast as the media did this time.
GET READY!
YOUR GOVERNMENT YES WE CAN!

Look at the Audit the Fed Act that Barney Frank is blocking - with more than half of the congress co-sponsoring. People are waking up to the fact that they are not the only one that feels the way they do. That's why moves are in place to limit free speech on the web etc.
