I just ordered a couple of toys.

I love blades. I never really got into folders, tacticals or bowies. I'm more of a butterfly knife nut. I've trained in Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) a bit in the Kali style.

Cool shit, dude. I want to find a solid, low profile, quality folding knife to carry around as general utility and self defense knife. The two probably aren't meant to necessarily mix, but I know it is possible. I also want to have a custom knife made at some point, but I got other expenses to think about first.

Did you get your knife in yet? I forgot to ask about it when I was over the other day.

Not yet. I'm still at El Cid so I won't be knife shopping until I get back to Jersey.

So I got an email from the company I ordered my toys from. Both items are out of stick and the double blade is discontinued. I wish they would've updated their site prior to me ordering.

The owner of the site did email me personally and I expressed interest in some of his butterfly knives. We are working on a deal to replace my entire order with 3 butterfly knives. Once he gets the cane in stock, I will be placing an order for that along with whatever else catches my eye at that time.

Cliffs: Entire order I placed is not in stock, website was not up to date. Communication is great and we are working on a replacement order. Will definitely order from that site again.

Oh Man! Don't even get me started on knives...knives and snus and snuff are going to bankrupt me. I know lots of you guys have seen this, from when I was posting more frequently here, but for any new interested guys, my buddy Eric and I do a knife and gear blog:

Man... I remember my first balisong. Bought it in China Town, NYC. Cut the shit outta myself learning how to flip it.

That's where the problem lies. I've only seen cheaply made, unbalanced butterflies in Chinatown. Never ever bought one because of this. :P

I also noticed you used "balisong" in your post. I'm Filipino so the word is common for me to hear and use but I rarely use "balisong" when not conversing with other Filipinos.

Although I am not into balisongs, I am sure there are some really balanced ones out there:

I have a benchmade model 42 (the newer incarnation of the bottome one above). The thing is way smooth. The day I got it, a ham-handed butterfingered friend snatched it out of my hand and tried to flip it, it jetted from his pansy-ass grip and landed on the pavement, in the rain 12 feet away. I was pissed until I picked it up and noticed that I got lucky and the blade didn't hit the concrete, just some minor scratches on the handle. I never let my buddy forget, and when we went to the benchmade factory last year, he bought me a knife so I'd finally shut up.

Model 42 is really sweet. I'll have to examine my head as I am not interested in stilettos or balisongs!! Hopefully this will change in the future.

BTW, I checked your website -- very nice man, you must have worked a lot on that site. I was reading it for over 45 minutes, very thorough reviews. Keep up the good work.

hey thanks man! I just figured it was a way to channel my knife obsession, and when I started it, I was only employed part-time, so I did lots of writing. I was never really into butterfly knives either until I got a benchmade, Bradley Cutlery makes some cool stuff too.
