    A remake of 'True Grit'?

I just Hollywood is going to do a remake of the John Wayne classic 'True Grt'
Whatta ya think? Should they leave this alone or is it time to be redone?

I find that remakes go one of 2 ways; either its done really really well and everyone loves it, or they blow it and everyone hates it.

I'm interested to see how it turns out.

They need to leave it alone. I just can't see anyone else in the role John Wayne made.

Or Katherine Hepburn. They should just leave it alone. Don't **** with the classics.

I think Katherine Hepburn was in Rooster Cogburn, but again another classic I'd not like to see remade.

On the plus side just about anybody could act better then Glen Campbell.

Ehh, I'll be the odd man out here. :P

I personally don't really like most remakes, but I wouldn't mind seeing True Grit redone. I was never a John Wayne fan, either. IMO all he did in a lot of his movies was sit on a horse and talk shit, lean on a ship's bulkhead and talk shit, or fly a plane and talk shit. Yet everyone always walked away scared, or he managed to beat the hell out of them despite having slower moves than a three-toed sloth.

Clint Eastwood or Lee Marvin would have dropped him any day of the week, no problem.

My two cents. Flame if you must.

The Coen brothers said their version will follow the book much more closely than the John Wayne one did. I imagine it will be a completely different movie. Much like The Last Man on Earth, Omega Man, and I am Legend are all very different.

I read somewhere that their version would be through the eyes of the little girl. Don't know if that is more true to the book or not.
