I am a chinchilla lover. I have two, my girlfriend has two, and we also have a rabbit and a cat.

      This is Loki

      Loki again

This is Thor when he was a baby

And this is the two of them.

seriously they are pretty good, but very little meat.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Chinchillas are hip. I've always liked rodents, and wouldn't mind getting a hamster again, but I have terrible luck with them. My longest lived was 1.5 years old, and most didn't live past 8 months or so :^(

I've also wanted a pet raven or crow. I was eying up a nest last year, but it was too high in the pines. I'd have killed myself if I climbed up to grab a chick :^D

Hamsters are unpredictable, many of them die real quick, others just seem to live forever. I'm not sure why that is. We at one time a bought a couple not realizing it was a girl and a boy, next thing we know we have about 20 hamsters. Dwarfs, not the big ones. Most of them have died off now, but we have 4 left that have been around for about 3 years. I do like hamsters, but we have enough other pets that keep us busy enough that I won't be too heartbroken when they finally pass.

The chinchillas the rabbit and the cat on the other hand would be devastating. But they still have quite a lot of life in them. Chinchillas live 15-20 years on average and rabbits about 10, and they are only a couple of years old.

Funny thing is that the rabbit is comletely house trained (uses only her litter box), she just wanders around as freely as the cat, and they love annoying each other.

Here are the dogs that I brought home from AK, as a birthday present for my wife. They belonged to my Aunt and Uncle, who I was working for while I was up there, and they gave them to me for her, as they were going to sell them to begin with.

Eventually I will have my German Shorthaired Pointer, but for now, the little Chi's are good enough for the apartment.

Here's a pic of one of my hamsters, Goldie:

I was thinking of getting a pair of rats, I hear they're very intelligent; like having a couple of tiny dogs. They get a really bad rap, but apparently, domesticated, are very good pets, clean, and they form a close attachment to their owner.

I'd only get them from a rattery though, not from a pet shop. You can never know how they've been treated in a pet shop imo.

I have an English Bulldog named Bam Boozle. RIght now he is about 1 year 5 months old.

He is absolutely ferocious. He will bite your face off without even thinking twice about it... as soon as he wakes up for a nap, eats dinner, has you rub his belly, takes another nap, then wakes up again to go outside, and plays a nice friendly game of fetch, and has another nap...

Just kidding. Bam wouldn't hurt a fly. Ever have one of those dogs that makes you not want to own another one out of fear that it will never be as good as the one you have? I feel when Bam passes I will never want another dog again. That is how amazing he is.

                    Puppy shot:

                    Sorry for the large images!

If you want to see some more of him you can go here:

I share my home with a 125 lb. Golden Retriever, he has thyroid issues, takes pills everyday...Anyway, he just turned 10 in January and in my opinion, he is the best dog ever! He'll be going under the knife on Wednesday to remove a non-cancerous tumor in his scrotum. I hope everything goes well, I'm a little nervous.

before the pic was taken? he looks bushed

                              Hope the op goes ok.
